Day 299 – Wisdom

1 Kings 3:1 Now Solomon made a treaty with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and married Pharaoh’s daughter; then he brought her to the City of David until he had finished building his house, the house of JEHOVAH, and the wall around Jerusalem.

2 Meanwhile the people sacrificed at the high places, because there was no house built for the name of JEHOVAH until those days.

3 Solomon loved JEHOVAH, walking in the statutes of his father David, except that he sacrificed and burned incense at the high places.

4 Now the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, for it was the great high place, and Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar.

5 At Gibeon JEHOVAH appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and Elohiym said, “Ask! What will I give you?”

6 Solomon said, “You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You continued this great kindness for him, and You gave him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

7 “Now, O JEHOVAH my Elohiym, You made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. 8 Your servant is in the middle of Your people whom You chose, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. 9 Therefore, give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who can judge this great people of Yours?”

10 The speech pleased JEHOVAH, that Solomon asked this thing.

11 Then Elohiym said to him, “Because you asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor asked riches for yourself, nor asked the life of your enemies, but asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, 12 behold, I did according to your words; see, I gave you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor will any like you arise after you. 13 I also gave you what you did not ask for: both riches and honor, so that there will not be anyone like you among the kings during your days. 14 If you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.”

15 Then Solomon awoke; and indeed, it had been a dream. He came to Jerusalem and stood before the ark of the covenant of JEHOVAH, offered up burnt offerings, offered peace offerings, and made a feast for his servants.

16 Now two women who were harlots came to the king and stood before him.

17 One woman said, “O my lord, this woman and I dwell in the same house; and I gave birth while she was in the house. 18 Then it happened, the third day after I had given birth, that this woman also gave birth. We were together; no one was with us in the house, except the two of us in the house. 19 This woman’s son died in the night, because she lay on him. 20 Then she arose in the middle of the night and took my son from my side, while your maidservant slept, and laid him in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom. 21 When I rose in the morning to nurse my son, there he was, dead. However, when I examined him in the morning, indeed, he was not my son whom I had borne.”

22 Then the other woman said, “No! The living one is my son, and the dead one is your son.” The first woman said, “No! The dead one is your son, and the living one is my son.” Thus, they spoke before the king.

23 The king said, “The one says, ‘This is my son, who lives, and your son is the dead one’; and the other says, ‘No! Your son is the dead one, and my son is the living one.’” 24 Then the king said, “Bring me a sword.” Then they brought a sword before the king. 25 The king said, “Divide the living child in two, and give half to one, and half to the other.”

26 Then the woman whose son was living spoke to the king, for she yearned with compassion for her son; and she said, “O my lord, give her the living child, and by no means kill him!”

However, the other said, “Let him be neither mine nor yours, but divide him.”

27 Then the king answered and said, “Give the first woman the living child, and by no means kill him; she is his mother.”

28 Everyone in Israel heard of the judgment which the king rendered; and they feared the king, for they saw the wisdom of Elohiym was in him to administer justice.

Wisdom

If you have been alive long enough, you know there is a severe lack of wisdom among people. They act without thinking and do whatever their heart desires.

While Solomon slept, JEHOVAH came to him and told him He would give him whatever he asked for. Solomon asked for wisdom to rule JEHOVAH’S people. Elohiym granted him his request and gave him wisdom along with those virtues he didn’t ask for: wealth, honor, and long life if he obeyed Him. Then to show Solomon the wisdom Elohiym gave him, two harlots came before him with a living child, both claiming the child was theirs and the other woman’s child died. Solomon’s solution was to cut the child in two. When he prepared to cut the child in half the child’s mother spoke in defense of the child and Solomon knew who the mother of the child was, showing everyone the wisdom Elohiym gave him to rule the people.

When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, He gave you the gifts of the Hagios Pneuma to guide your life.

1 Corinthians 12:7 The manifestation of the Pneuma is given to each one for the profit of everyone. 8 To one is given the word of wisdom through the Pneuma, to another the word of knowledge through the same Pneuma, 9 to another faith by the same Pneuma, to another gifts of healings by the same Pneuma, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

11 However, one and the same Pneuma works these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

Do you live according to the wisdom the Hagios Pneuma gave you as His Yeshuwa’s child? Or does your Bible remain unopened as you wander through life without knowing what gifts belong to you as a child of Elohiym?

As a child of Elohiym, your life is on display for the world to see. They see how you act in everything you do. When you act like the world, they don’t believe you’re a child of Elohiym. They point out to you how much you are like the world. They condemn you for your actions. However, when you live according to the Pneuma Yeshuwa gave you as His child, people cannot come against you because you operate in the gifts and calling Yeshuwa gave you.

Examine your life. Do you see a life wholly dedicated to Yeshuwa guided by the gifts of the Hagios Pneuma? If not make the necessary changes so people will know you belong to Yeshuwa and the Hagios Pneuma lives in you.

Everyone in Israel knew JEHOVAH gave Solomon wisdom. They saw it displayed in everything he did. Live your life in the same way with wisdom to guide you and people will know you belong to Yeshuwa.

Let’s pray: Father, live in me so people will know I belong to You. Give me wisdom in everything I do. Give me an understanding heart to know when Satan tries to tempt me to do his will instead of Yours. Let me honor You in everything I do and everything I say. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
