Day 300 – Gifts and Talents

1 Kings 4:29 Elohiym gave Solomon wisdom and great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore.

30 Thus Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of the men of the East and the wisdom of Egypt.

31 For he was wiser than every man—than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was in the surrounding nations.

32 He spoke three thousand proverbs, and his songs were one thousand and five.

33 He also spoke of trees, from the cedar tree of Lebanon even to the hyssop that springs out of the wall; he spoke also of animals, of birds, of creeping things, and of fish.

34 Men of every nation, from the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom, came to hear the wisdom of Solomon.

God’s character:

Wisdom

Everyone has talents in which they excel. You know their fame, whether it’s in sports, food, literature, evangelism, theater, or the many other areas of life people find themselves. You can name them because you follow them.

Elohiym gave Solomon more wisdom than anyone else on earth. People came from the nations of the earth to see and hear Solomon’s wisdom, not only the countries surrounding Israel. He amazed them with everything they heard and saw.

When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, the Hagios Pneuma gave you talents or gifts to use for His glory.

1 Corinthians 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant.

2 You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led.

3 Therefore, I make known to you that no one speaking by the Pneuma of Theos calls Iesous accursed, and no one can say that Iesous is Kurios except by the Hagios Pneuma.

4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Pneuma.

5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Kurios.

6 There are diversities of activities, but it is the same Theos who works in everyone.

7 However, the manifestation of the Pneuma is given to each one for the profit of everyone.

8 For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Pneuma, to another the word of knowledge through the same Pneuma, 9 to another faith by the same Pneuma, to another gifts of healings by the same Pneuma, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

11 However, the same Pneuma works everything, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

You know the gifts the Hagios Pneuma gave you. It’s the talent you excel in for His glory. It is what drives you, what brings you joy, what you’re passionate about and have been since before you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord.

Like Solomon, Yeshuwa might have given you a new gift after you accepted Him as Savior and Lord. Solomon asked Elohiym for wisdom when He asked him what He could give him when he became king over Israel. What new talent or gift did you receive after your salvation? When you think about the gifts of the Hagios Pneuma, which ones did you receive? Use it for His glory with wisdom and grace.

Solomon’s wisdom drew people from the farthest reaches of the known world to hear him. How he took care of the people in his kingdom also drew them to see the wealth of Israel for themselves. What draws people to you? What makes you stand out from every other Christian? Give glory to Theos for what He gave you and use your gifts everyday as a testimony of what Yeshuwa did for you.

Let’s pray: Father, thank you for the gifts and talents You gave me. Help me use Your gifts for Your glory to bring You honor in everything I do. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
