What’s your favorite month of the year? Why?

My favorite month of the year should be the month I was born. However, I’m not a summer person, even though I was born on the hottest day of summer. I love winter. Therefore, my favorite month is winter. Oh, it’s not a month, is it? My favorite month is the month I see the first snowflake, and see a nice white layer outside. Whether that month is in October, November, or December doesn’t matter. As long as it snows, it’s my favorite month.

So far this year, it isn’t October. No snow on the pumpkin this year. I’m hoping for snow for Thanksgiving, but the calendar shows the possibility for after Thanksgiving – Friday and Saturday. That would then make my favorite month, November. However, if the forecast changes as it often does, then I will hope for December and a beautiful White Christmas. There have been too many green Christmases in the past years, so I’m holding out hope for a beautiful winter and a White Christmas this year. It would make December my favorite month of the year.

January is a possibility if it doesn’t snow before then, but typically January isn’t my favorite month, though it is a month of renewal and rebirth with the beginning of the year. It’s a time to start over and hope for better times. However, it’s not my favorite month.

I could also count all of them as my favorite month because every month has something special going on. They’re also my favorite because God created the days and seasons. He makes every day, every month, every year special. So whether it snows or doesn’t, doesn’t really matter, does it? It’s what you do with the month and time you’ve been given. Enjoy every day as a blessing from God and He will give you something to be thankful for every day.

Enjoy today. Make it special, and give God thanks for the day.
