Day 306 – Gifts of the Holy Spirit

1 Kings 10:1 When the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of JEHOVAH, she came to test him with hard questions.

2 She came to Jerusalem with a great retinue, with camels bearing spices, much gold, and precious stones; and when she came to Solomon, she spoke with him about everything in her heart.

3 Solomon answered her questions; there was nothing too difficult for the king that he could not explain it to her.

4 When the queen of Sheba had seen Solomon’s wisdom, the house he had built, 5 the food on his table, the seating of his servants, the service of his waiters and their apparel, his cupbearers, and his entryway by which he went up to the house of JEHOVAH, there was no more spirit in her.

6 Then she said to the king, “It was a true report which I heard in my land about your words and your wisdom. 7 However, I did not believe the words until I came and saw with my own eyes; and indeed, the half was not told me. Your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame of which I heard. 8 Happy are your men and happy are your servants, who always stand before you and hear your wisdom! 9 Blessed be JEHOVAH your God, who delighted in you, setting you on the throne of Israel! Because JEHOVAH has loved Israel forever, therefore He made you king, to do justice and righteousness.”

10 Then she gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, spices in great quantity, and precious stones. There never again came such abundance of spices as the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.

11 Also, the ships of Hiram, which brought gold from Ophir, brought great quantities of sandalwood trees and precious stones from Ophir.

12 The king made steps of sandalwood for the house of JEHOVAH and for the king’s house, also harps and stringed instruments for singers. There never again came such sandalwood, nor has the like been seen to this day.

13 Now King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba everything she desired, whatever she asked, besides what Solomon gave her according to the royal generosity. Thus, she turned and went to her country, she and her servants.

14 The weight of gold that came to Solomon yearly was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold, 15 besides that from the traveling merchants, from the income of traders, from the kings of Arabia, and from the governors of the country.

16 King Solomon made two hundred large shields of hammered gold; six hundred shekels of gold went into each shield.

17 He also made three hundred shields of hammered gold; three minas of gold went into each shield. The king put them in the House of the Forest of Lebanon.

18 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory and overlaid it with pure gold.

19 The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round at the back; there were armrests on either side of the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the armrests.

20 Twelve lions stood there, one on each side of the six steps; nothing like this had been made for any other kingdom.

21 King Solomon’s drinking vessels were gold, and the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. Not one was silver, for this was accounted for as nothing in the days of Solomon.

22 For the king had merchant ships at sea with the fleet of Hiram. Once every three years the merchant ships came bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and monkeys.

23 Thus, King Solomon surpassed the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

24 Now the entire earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which Elohiym had put in his heart.

25 Each man brought his present: articles of silver and gold, garments, armor, spices, horses, and mules, at a set rate year by year.

26 Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen; he had one thousand four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he stationed in the chariot cities and with the king in Jerusalem.

27 The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedar trees as abundant as the sycamores which are in the lowland.

28 Also Solomon had horses imported from Egypt and Keveh; the king’s merchants bought them in Keveh at the current price.

29 Now a chariot imported from Egypt cost six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse one hundred and fifty; and thus, through their agents, they exported them to the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Syria.

God’s character:

Provider

How do you respond when someone pays you a great compliment? Most people will shower gifts and blessings on the person giving the compliment. It doesn’t need to be a great compliment, but someone doing something unexpectedly nice to you. When your children brought you an unexpected gift, you wanted to give them something special to show your gratitude. It made the bond between you greater. People want to treat those who do nice things to them by returning the kindness bestowed on them.

The queen of Sheba came to Solomon because she heard about his fame in her land, Ethiopia where she lived. She brought with her precious gifts and gave them to Solomon when everything she heard proved true. In return, Solomon gave her gifts.

When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, He provided gifts to you through the Hagios Pneuma. Many Christians reject the gifts as being unworthy of them or that the Hagios Pneuma doesn’t give gifts as He did when the church was young and starting out. However, the gifts He gives you are for His glory. You are to use them liberally, not boastfully, but because it is part of your work for the kingdom of Elohiym.

Do you know the gifts the Hagios Pneuma gave you?

1 Corinthians 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant.

2 You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led.

3 Therefore, I make known to you that no one speaking by the Pneuma of Theos calls Iesous accursed, and no one can say that Iesous is Kurios except by the Hagios Pneuma.

4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Pneuma.

5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Kurios.

6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same Theos who works all in all.

7 But the manifestation of the Pneuma is given to each one for the profit of all; 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Pneuma, to another the word of knowledge through the same Pneuma, 9 to another faith by the same Pneuma, to another gifts of healings by the same Pneuma, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

11 However, one and the same Pneuma works everything, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

Romans 12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.

1 Peter 4:9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.

10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of Theos.

11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of Theos. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which Theos supplies, that in everything Theos may be glorified through Iesous Christos, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Everyone has at least one of the gifts of the Hagios Pneuma. Use your gifts to the glory of Theos to advance His kingdom and show the world the love of Iesous Christos. When you do, He will shower you with blessings far above what you could imagine.

Let’s pray: Father, let me use the gifts You gave me for Your glory and the advancement of Your kingdom. Let those who see me know I belong to You because Your love lives in me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
