Meals over the past four decades have changed. When my children lived at home it was anything pasta, pizza, and burgers. Today, I live alone, so my meals have changed. It’s no longer anythng pasta, pizza, or burgers as my top three.
Change
Gone from my lifestyle is anything processed. I’ve embraced a healthy eating lifestyle. As necessity dictated, I found myself gluten intolerant. So, everything pasta is now gluten free pasta. Pizza isn’t on the menu as often, but hamburger is still on the menu.
My three favorite meals now are:
Tuna Mac and Cheese. I add an onion and I have a delicious healthy meal. I eat more salads, but they are still not my go-to in a pinch.
Next would be eggs with turkey bacon for breakfast. I alternate it with oatmeal with fruit in it – raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries.
My last favorite meal would be salmon. My freezer is full of salmon and fish. I love a good steak too, but I don’t eat it quite as often as I eat salmon.
Goals for Healthy Eating
I made the change to healthy eating when my weight was more than it should be. I was well over 100 pounds overweight and needed to do something to change my life and live longer. That change came about in 2016. With the new eating habits I made, I’ve lost a total of 70 pounds of what I need to lose. I look better and feel better. I’m also walking every day and riding the bike or foot cycle, and when I can I also swim.
