Day 324 – Provision

2 Kings 4:38 Elisha returned to Gilgal, and there was a famine in the land. Now the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his servant, “Put on the large pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.”

39 Then one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered from it a lapful of wild gourds, and came and sliced them into the pot of stew, though they did not know what they were.

40 Then they served it to the men to eat. Now it happened, as they were eating the stew, that they cried out and said, “Man of Elohiym, there is death in the pot!” They could not eat it.

41 He said, “Then bring flour.” He put it into the pot, and said, “Serve it to the people, that they may eat.” There was nothing harmful in the pot.

42 Then a man came from Baal Shalisha and brought the man of Elohiym bread of the first fruits, twenty loaves of barley bread, and newly ripened grain in his knapsack. He said, “Give it to the people, that they may eat.”

43 However, his servant said, “What? Will I set this before one hundred men?”

He said again, “Give it to the people, that they may eat; for thus says JEHOVAH, ‘They will eat and have some left over.’”

44 Thus, he set it before them; and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of JEHOVAH.

God’s names:

Elohiym – Supreme God

JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

Yeshuwa – Jesus

Theos – Supreme Divinity

Christos – Anointed One, Messiah

Iesous – Jesus

God’s character:

Provider

Have you eaten something and knew right away it wasn’t good? You throw it away and make something else to eat.

Elisha told the prophets to make stew. However, one of the plants they cut into the stew was poisonous. He told them to put flour into the pot and then they could eat it. On another occasion, a man provided food for the prophets, but there wasn’t enough food for everyone. Elisha told his servant to give it to the men and they would have enough and leftovers.

Elohiym promised to provide everything His people needed. David said he never saw JEHOVAH’S people begging bread.

When Yeshuwa taught the people, He also provided food for them when they had been with Him for an entire day.

Luke 9:12 When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted place here.”

13 However, He said to them, “You give them something to eat.”

They said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we go and buy food for these people.”

14 For there were about five thousand men. Then He said to His disciples, “Make them sit down in groups of fifty.”

15 They did so and made them sit down.

16 Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude.

17 Then they ate and were filled, and twelve baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them.

When you believe Yeshuwa will provide what you need, you will see an abundance and more. You will have food, clothing, shelter, whatever you need, He will supply it.

Matthew 6:25 “Therefore, I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is life not more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

Philippians 4:19 My Theos will supply everything you need according to His riches in glory by Christos Iesous.

Psalm 37:25 I have been young and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.

When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, He promised to take care of everything you need. He never failed to keep His promises to His people. He won’t fail to keep His promises to you either.

Let’s pray: Father, thank you for providing everything I need according to Your riches in glory. Let me praise You for everything You provide in my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
