Day 345 – Healer

2 Kings 20:1 In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to him, “Thus says JEHOVAH, ‘Set your house in order, for you will die, and not live.’”

2 Then he turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to JEHOVAH, saying, 3 “Remember now, O JEHOVAH, I pray, how I walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and did what was good in Your sight.” Hezekiah wept bitterly.

4 It happened, before Isaiah had gone out into the middle court, that the word of JEHOVAH came to him, saying, 5 “Return and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people, ‘Thus says JEHOVAH, the Elohiym of David your father, “I heard your prayer, I see your tears; I will heal you. On the third day you will go up to the house of JEHOVAH. 6 I will add to your days fifteen years. I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for My sake, and for the sake of My servant David.”’”

7 Then Isaiah said, “Take a lump of figs.” Then they took it and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.

8 Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “What is the sign that JEHOVAH will heal me, and I will go up to the house of JEHOVAH the third day?”

9 Then Isaiah said, “This is the sign to you from JEHOVAH, that JEHOVAH will do the thing which He said: will the shadow go forward ten degrees or go backward ten degrees?”

10 Hezekiah answered, “It is an easy thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees; no, but let the shadow go backward ten degrees.”

11 Then Isaiah the prophet cried out to JEHOVAH, and He brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down on the sundial of Ahaz.

12 At that time Berodach-Baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah, for he heard Hezekiah had been sick.

13 Hezekiah was attentive to them and showed them the house of his treasures—the silver and gold, the spices and precious ointment, and his armory—everything found among his treasures. There was nothing in his house or in his dominion that Hezekiah did not show them.

14 Then Isaiah the prophet went to King Hezekiah, and said to him, “What did these men say, and from where did they come to you?”

Then Hezekiah said, “They came from a far country, from Babylon.”

15 He said, “What did they see in your house?”

Then Hezekiah answered, “They saw everything in my house; there is nothing among my treasures that I did not show them.”

16 Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word of JEHOVAH. 17 ‘Behold, the days are coming when everything in your house, and what your fathers accumulated until this day, will be carried to Babylon; nothing will be left,’ says JEHOVAH. 18 They will take away some of your sons who will descend from you, whom you will beget; and they will be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.’”

19 Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “The word of JEHOVAH which you spoke is good!” For he said, “Will there not be peace and truth at least in my days?”

20 Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah—his might, and how he made a pool and a tunnel and brought water into the city—are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 21 Thus, Hezekiah rested with his fathers. Then Manasseh his son reigned in his place.

God’s character:

Healer

Many people suffer from terminal illnesses for which there is no cure. Yet many of those diagnosed with terminal illnesses recover or live longer than the doctors projected.

Hezekiah became ill and Isaiah told him he would not recover. Yet when Hezekiah prayed and reminded JEHOVAH about his faithfulness to Him, JEHOVAH told Isaiah to return to Hezekiah before he left the palace and tell him he would live another fifteen years. He also told his servants what to do to heal Hezekiah.

When Elohiym healed him the king of Babylon came bearing gifts when he heard JEHOVAH healed him. When Isaiah heard about his visitors and what Hezekiah showed him in his house and treasury, he told Hezekiah the Babylonians would come and take the people captive and make eunuchs of his sons, but not during his lifetime.

When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, He gave you eternal life instead of eternal death. He healed your terminal illness brought on because of sin. You no longer belonged to Satan, but to JEHOVAH. However, many Christians live as though the stench of death still covered them. They believe Satan’s lies that Yeshuwa could not save them because their sins were too bad for Him to forgive them. He keeps them in captivity as long as he can.

When Yeshuwa forgave your sins, He healed you from the stench of death on your life. You no longer belong to Satan. Satan will do everything he can to keep you from knowing about your salvation. However, when you spend time with other believers, read your Bible, go to church or listen to a service online, you keep Satan from attacking you. When you pray and seek His face, you cause Satan to flee from you. He cannot harm you when you spend time with Yeshuwa.

When you realize every promise Elohiym gave His people belongs to you, you have weapons to fight with and Satan doesn’t stand a chance against you.

2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in Theos for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of Theos, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christos, 6 and being ready to punish every disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

When you spend time in Yeshuwa’s Word, memorizing it and hiding it in your heart, you have weapons against Satan. Don’t let him tell you your salvation wasn’t real. You tell him your Elohiym is greater than anything he can bring against you. The stench of death will roll off you and you will have the aroma of life on your life.

2 Corinthians 2:15 For we are to Theos the fragrance of Christos among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.

16 To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things?

17 For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of Theos; but as of sincerity, but as from Theos, we speak in the sight of Theos in Christos.

Your salvation is real. The Word of Christos in you is real. You have life flowing through your veins. Don’t let Satan tell you otherwise.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christos Iesous for good works, which Theos prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

You are Yeshuwa’s workmanship. The moment you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord His life flowed in you. Embrace His life and live for Him. Then Satan cannot bring his plans to fruition in your life.

Let’s pray: Father, thank you for my salvation. Thank you that I belong to You and You live in me. When Satan comes against me to try to tell me I don’t belong to You, let Your Word rise in me so that he will flee from me. Let praise fill my lips, keeping Satan far from me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
