Day 346 – Salvation

2 Kings 21:1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hephzibah. 2 He did evil in the sight of JEHOVAH, according to the abominations of the nations whom JEHOVAH had cast out before the children of Israel. 3 For he rebuilt the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; he raised up altars for Baal, and made a wooden image, as Ahab king of Israel had done; and he worshiped the entire host of heaven and served them. 4 He also built altars in the house of JEHOVAH, of which JEHOVAH had said, “In Jerusalem I will put My name.” 5 He built altars for the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of JEHOVAH. 6 Also, he made his son pass through the fire, practiced soothsaying, used witchcraft, and consulted spiritists and mediums. He did much evil in the sight of JEHOVAH, to provoke Him to anger. 7 He even set a carved image of Asherah that he had made, in the house of which JEHOVAH had said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever; 8 and I will not make the feet of Israel wander anymore from the land which I gave their fathers—only if they are careful to do according to everything I have commanded them, and according to the law that My servant Moses commanded them.” 9 However, they paid no attention, and Manasseh seduced them to do more evil than the nations whom JEHOVAH had destroyed before the children of Israel.

10 JEHOVAH spoke by His servants the prophets, saying, 11 “Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations (he has acted more wickedly than the Amorites who were before him, and has also made Judah sin with his idols), 12 therefore, thus says JEHOVAH Elohiym of Israel, ‘Behold, I am bringing such calamity upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever hears of it, both his ears will tingle. 13 I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab; I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down. 14 Thus, I will forsake the remnant of My inheritance and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they will become victims of plunder to their enemies, 15 because they did evil in My sight, and provoked Me to anger since the day their fathers came out of Egypt, even to this day.’”

16 Moreover, Manasseh shed much innocent blood, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another, besides his sin by which he made Judah sin, in doing evil in the sight of JEHOVAH.

17 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh—everything he did, and the sin he committed—are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 18 Then Manasseh rested with his fathers and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza. Then his son Amon reigned in his place.

19 Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned for two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah. 20 He did evil in the sight of JEHOVAH, as his father Manasseh had done. 21 Thus, he walked in the ways his father had walked; and he served the idols his father had served and worshiped them. 22 He forsook JEHOVAH Elohiym of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of JEHOVAH.

23 Then the servants of Amon conspired against him and killed the king in his own house. 24 However, the people of the land executed everyone who conspired against King Amon. Then the people of the land made his son Josiah king in his place. 25 Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 26 He was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza. Then Josiah his son reigned in his place.

God’s character:

Sovereign

Judge

When you do something wrong, people know, and though you might think you can get away with your wrongdoing, you will always be found out and punished.

Manasseh, son of Hezekiah, king of Judah did evil in JEHOVAH’S sight. In every way his father was good and did right in JEHOVAH’S sight, he did evil. He was one of the longest reigning evil kings between Judah and Israel. His judgment came from JEHOVAH when he died. His son, Amon, reigned two years and was just as evil in JEHOVAH’S sight as his father. The people killed him. Then his son, Josiah, reigned.

JEHOVAH prophesied through His prophets about what He would do to Judah and Jerusalem because of the evil Manasseh did. He would bring such judgment against Judah and Jerusalem that both ears would tingle when people heard about it. He also said He would forsake the remnant of His people because of their sin against Him.

How bad was your sin before you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord? People don’t think they’re too bad. Not as bad as the other person. Yet everyone sins. There is no difference in the type of sin. In JEHOVAH’S eyes, every good and bad sin has one classification, sin, and every sin has one judgment.

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of Theos,

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of Theos is eternal life in Christos Iesous our Kurios.

However, you have a way out of JEHOVAH’S judgment. When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, He commuted your death sentence and gave you life.

Romans 5:8 But Theos demonstrates His love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christos died for us.

Manasseh and Amon didn’t turn their hearts to JEHOVAH. They continued in their sin and received JEHOVAH’S punishment.

Because you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, you can confess your sins to Him and He will forgive you.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and forgives our sins and cleanses us from every unrighteousness.

As you examine your life, confess your sins so Yeshuwa can forgive you and bring you into a right relationship with Him. The only time JEHOVAH forsakes you is when you don’t confess your sin, you don’t accept Him as Savior and Lord, and you allow Satan to govern your life. The only thing He can do with you is send you to Hell because of your rejection of Him. There is no sin greater than blasphemy of the Hagios Pneuma. He forgives every other sin.

Confess your sins today. Accept Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, and He will give you eternal life and you will never be separated from Him again.

Manasseh and Amon received JEHOVAH’S eternal judgment: eternal separation from Him for their sins against Him. Don’t let your sin separate you for eternity from Yeshuwa who loves you and gave His life for you.

Let’s pray: Father, thank you for sending Your Son to die for me and give me Your salvation. Show me my sin so I can confess it and receive Your forgiveness. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
