A few months ago I planned to move. What you see above is only from my living room. It doesn’t include the kitchen, dining room, bathroom, or my bedroom. I have a lot of STUFF. Most of what you see are boxes of books. I have six bookcases in my small one-bedroom apartment.
Since, I’m no longer moving, I unpacked all those boxes and have tried to find a way to downsize and declutter. The fact is, I like my books. I’ve read them several times. I have new books to read and need another bookcase for the additional books.
I also enjoy rock painting and collecting villages and oil lamps.

I’ve looked at everything I have with an eye to what I can get rid of. Not much. However, I’m planning to get a new table, so I’m going to get rid of the table I have that used to belong to my parents, but is almost past its prime. I’m also considering getting rid of the organ. It used to belong to my grandparents. I really don’t want to get rid of it as I was there when it was delivered to my grandmother’s home. I was also the first person to play it. Lots of sentimental value. It needs major restoration.

The only thing I managed to downsize so far is my bed. I downsized from a king to a full. I’m still getting used to the smaller bed.

As you can see, I also collect stuffed animals.
So where would I even begin to declutter. Everything I have has some value to it. Getting rid of anything is like cutting off my arm.
About the only place left to declutter would be my thoughts, making certain my thoughts line up with God’s thoughts and my actions line up with His actions for my life. If they don’t, it’s time to declutter my thoughts and actions.
Thanks for reading. What ways are you trying to declutter?
