Day 11 – Wisdom
2 Chronicles 9:13 The weight of gold that came to Solomon yearly was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold, 14 besides what the traveling merchants and traders brought. The kings of Arabia and governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon.
15 King Solomon made two hundred large shields of hammered gold; six hundred shekels of hammered gold went into each shield. 16 He also made three hundred shields of hammered gold; three hundred shekels of gold went into each shield. The king put them in the House of the Forest of Lebanon.
17 Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory and overlaid it with pure gold. 18 The throne had six steps, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne; there were armrests on either side of the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the armrests. 19 Twelve lions stood there, one on each side of the six steps; nothing like this had been made for any other kingdom.
20 King Solomon’s drinking vessels were gold, and the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. Not one was silver, for this was accounted as nothing in the days of Solomon.
21 For the king’s ships went to Tarshish with the servants of Hiram. Once every three years the merchant ships came, bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and monkeys.
22 Thus, King Solomon surpassed the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom. 23 The kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which Elohiym had put in his heart. 24 Each man brought his present: articles of silver and gold, garments, armor, spices, horses, and mules, at a set rate year by year.
25 Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen whom he stationed in the chariot cities and with the king at Jerusalem.
26 Thus, he reigned over the kings from the River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt.
27 The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedar trees as abundant as the sycamores in the lowland.
28 They brought horses to Solomon from Egypt and from every land.
29 Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet, in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat? 30 Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over Israel for forty years. 31 Then Solomon rested with his fathers and was buried in the City of David, his father. Then Rehoboam, his son reigned in his place.

God’s character:
Wisdom
Holy One
You need wisdom in everything you obtain in life. Many people lack wisdom. People who lack wisdom also lack common sense. How do you obtain wisdom?
Solomon obtained wisdom from Elohiym. Elohiym also gave him wealth, honor, and riches when He gave him wisdom.
2 Chronicles 1:6 Solomon went to the bronze altar before JEHOVAH, which was at the tabernacle of meeting, and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it.
7 On that night Elohiym appeared to Solomon, and said to him, “Ask! What will I give you?”
8 Solomon said to Elohiym, “You showed great mercy to David my father, and made me king in his place. 9 Now, O JEHOVAH Elohiym, let Your promise to David my father be established, for You made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. 10 Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of Yours?”
11 Elohiym said to Solomon, “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches or wealth or honor or the life of your enemies, nor have you asked long life—but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge My people over whom I have made you king— 12 wisdom and knowledge are granted to you; and I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the kings have had who were before you, nor will any after you have the like.”
Here you see an account of Solomon’s wealth. You also see kings come from everywhere to hear his wisdom.
When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, He told you to ask Him for whatever anything, and He would give it to you because it would bring glory to His Father.
Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. (NKJV)
John 14:13 “Whatever you ask in My name, I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
Does it mean you have carte blanche with Yeshuwa to ask for anything you want? No. It means it must bring glory to the Father. However, many Christians lack because they don’t ask. Elohiym gave Solomon wisdom and knowledge because he asked for it. Elohiym told him to ask for whatever he wanted. You can see his wisdom and knowledge in everything he did.
When you ask for wisdom as Solomon did, Yeshuwa will give you wisdom. He will also give you knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of JEHOVAH is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Along with wisdom, Elohiym gave Solomon riches and wealth. Why don’t you have riches and wealth? Many Christians are afraid to ask for what Elohiym gives them. They stop at salvation and believe it’s enough. They don’t need more than that in this life.
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of Theos, who gives to everyone liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
6 However, let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
7 For let not that man suppose he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
James 4:1 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?
2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.
3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. (NKJV)
Everything you ask for of Yeshuwa must bring Him glory. Solomon brought Elohiym glory with his wisdom and knowledge. Did Solomon mess up? You know he did when he followed the elohiym of his many wives. Yet he repented in the end and told the people what mattered most.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear Elohiym and keep His commandments, for this is man’s everything.
14 For Elohiym will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.
What have you asked for from Yeshuwa? Did you ask believing you would receive it? Or did you doubt it because you never had anything before? Elohiym told Solomon to ask for whatever he wanted. Yeshuwa said to ask for whatever you wanted. Why aren’t you asking? Solomon had more wisdom, wealth, riches, and honor than any other person because he asked. If Elohiym can do that for Solomon, He can do it for you too. You only need to ask.
Let’s pray: Father, forgive me for not asking for whatever I want. I only want to bring You honor and glory in everything You give me. Give me wisdom in everything I say and do and to ask for whatever I desire so it brings You glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
