This isn’t my first computer, or even my current computer. Sadly this computer like those before it passed away with the black screen of death.
I got my first computer in the late 1990’s. It was bulky and took up the entire table I used for it at the time. It had a disk drive so I could save all my books on them. I think I got it when Windows 3 was out. Do any of you remember Clippy? I was so sad to see Clippy disappear into the past. I enjoyed his antics. I then went to a Vista. I wish I hadn’t. Then they came out with flat monitors. What space-saving joy. I’ve had several computers since the flat screen monitors came on the scene. I can’t tell you how many. My current computer is only a year, maybe two years old at the most.
The feature I love most about my computer is the fact I don’t need to save everything onto a disk drive anymore. It’s all on the cloud. That way when I need to buy a new computer, I still have everything and I don’t need to worry about losing my work as I did when my first computer crashed and I needed someone to retrieve my files for me.
I also have a laptop. I don’t use it unless I need to – when I’m between computers. I hate the laptop. I know most of you love them and never had a desktop computer. However, a laptop frustrates me when my hand goes across the curser pad and I lose everything I did and needed to start over. Until they completely do away with the desktop, and I hope they won’t, I’ll be using a desktop for all my work.
Thanks for reading.
