Are you thankful? Every day we have so much to be thankful for. So many people can’t see past the trouble, to see the blessing God gives them every day.
Today, was a day of blessing and thanksgiving. I didn’t spend much time on the computer. In fact, I left home at 7:30 and didn’t get home until almost 11 this morning.
I’m thankful my neighbor could take me for my hospital appointment. I have this every six weeks for an infusion. I hate needles and this morning I had more reason than usual to hate them. I’m not an easy poke. My veins are small and crooked. Finding a vein isn’t easy. I always pray for one and done. This morning it took four tries before they got the IV started. What should have taken half an hour took an hour. Praise God, I got out of there by 9:30.
Then it was off to Fleet Farm for cat and dog treats for my neighbor’s cat and dog. Though she didn’t get dog treats. We were talked into applying for a credit card. We’ll get a coupon in the mail for $50 to use anyway we want to at the store. I just started working on my credit score with Experian. I now have a good rating instead of no rating. So, hopefully the credit card will help me increase my credit. All we needed to do was buy one small thing today. Dark chocolate is my go to for sweets. I found two bags of dark chocolate: Dark Chocolate Orange Slices and Dark Chocolate Covered Raisins. YUM!
During this time, I’m also trying to get my Fitbit goals. I managed to keep up with them all day. We arrived home in time for me to eat breakfast, or was it lunch or brunch at 11 AM.
Then it was time to take a couple of laps around the hallways of my apartment building. The hallways are quite long. Going around them nine times equals a mile, or so someone told me when I moved in here three and a half years ago. I got five laps on the hallways then headed to the third floor with my bags of candy for Canasta.
The candy was a huge hit. We played two games of Canasta, not the usual game. We came up with a new version when we were short two tables. It’s still Canasta, but a ‘funner’ version, we call The Funner Game. It’s lots of fun and instead of playing to 5000, we play to 10,000 or four hands, which ever comes first. We play two teams of three. Not to be confused with Hand and Foot. We played two games with each team winning a game.
With the game over, I walked the hallways again to get my Fitbit goals and get my total step goals as well from three different apps: Fitbit, Google Fit, and Pedometer App. It’s interesting that none of them give me the same number of steps. It’s just good to know I make all my goals every day, including today.
I spent a little time here before my neighbor came over and we watched television together. Something we do each night. We watched a series we watch together and then watched a movie.
It’s been a good day. A thankful day. One I enjoyed with friends while the wind gusted to 50 mph and shook the facets on the building and howled around the building. It’s 13 F (-10 C) and feels like -18 F (-27 C). It’s cold out there.
Right now it’s 9:41 PM and an hour past my usual bedtime. However, I wanted to come here and read some of your posts before I went to bed and let you know why I’m thankful.
What are you thankful for? I would love for you to leave me comments below. Thanks for reading. The above image comes from the Bible App – You Version. The featured image belongs to me.
