Day 25 – Celebration

2 Chronicles 23:1 In the seventh year Jehoiada strengthened himself and made a covenant with the captains of hundreds: Azariah the son of Jeroham, Ishmael the son of Jehohanan, Azariah the son of Obed, Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zichri. 2 They went throughout Judah and gathered the Levites from the cities of Judah, and the chief fathers of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.

3 Then the assembly made a covenant with the king in the house of Elohiym. He said to them, “Behold, the king’s son will reign, as JEHOVAH has said of the sons of David. 4 This is what you will do: One-third of you entering on the Sabbath, of the priests and the Levites, will keep watch over the doors; 5 one-third will be at the king’s house; and one-third at the Gate of the Foundation. The people will be in the courts of the house of JEHOVAH. 6 However, let no one come into the house of JEHOVAH except the priests and those of the Levites who serve. They may go in, for they are holy; but the people will keep the watch of JEHOVAH. 7 The Levites will surround the king on every side, every man with his weapons in his hand; and whoever comes into the house, let him be put to death. You will be with the king when he comes in and when he goes out.”

8 Thus, the Levites and everyone in Judah did according to everything Jehoiada the priest commanded. Each man took his men who were to be on duty on the Sabbath, with those who were going off duty on the Sabbath; for Jehoiada the priest had not dismissed the divisions. 9 Jehoiada the priest gave to the captains of hundreds the spears and the large and small shields which had belonged to King David, that were in the temple of Elohiym. 10 Then he set the people, every man with his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the temple to the left side of the temple, along by the altar and by the temple, around the king. 11 They brought out the king’s son, put the crown on him, gave him the Testimony, and made him king. Then Jehoiada and his sons anointed him, and said, “Long live the king!”

12 Now when Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people in the temple of JEHOVAH. 13 When she looked, the king stood by his pillar at the entrance; and the leaders and the trumpeters were by the king. The people of the land rejoiced and blew trumpets, also the singers with musical instruments, and those who led in praise. Then Athaliah tore her clothes and said, “Treason! Treason!”

14 Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds set over the army, and said to them, “Take her outside under guard, and slay with the sword whoever follows her.” For the priest had said, “Do not kill her in the house of JEHOVAH.” 15 Then they seized her; and she went by way of the entrance of the Horse Gate into the king’s house, and they killed her there.

16 Then Jehoiada made a covenant between himself, the people, and the king, that they should be JEHOVAH’S people.

17 Then the people went to the temple of Baal and tore it down. They broke in pieces its altars and images and killed Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.

18 Also, Jehoiada appointed the oversight of the house of JEHOVAH to the hand of the priests, the Levites, whom David had assigned in the house of JEHOVAH, to offer the burnt offerings of JEHOVAH, as it is written in the Law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, as David established it.

19 He set the gatekeepers at the gates of the house of JEHOVAH, so that no one who was in any way unclean should enter.

20 Then he took the captains of hundreds, the nobles, the governors of the people, and the people of the land, and brought the king down from the house of JEHOVAH; and they went through the Upper Gate to the king’s house and set the king on the throne of the kingdom.

21 Then the people of the land rejoiced; and the city was quiet, for they had slain Athaliah with the sword.

People prepare for celebrations every day for various events in their lives, the countries they live in, and their leaders. Depending on the type of celebration, they can be elaborate or simple.

Jehoiada prepared an elaborate ceremony and celebration for the king, unknown to Athaliah who thought she killed the king’s sons, leaving none alive. When she saw the young king standing by his pillar in the temple, she exclaimed treason. Jehoiada had her killed in the horse gate of the king’s house. Then Jehoiada set the king on his throne.

When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, you accepted His kingship over your life. You proclaimed Him King. Satan did everything he could to usurp Yeshuwa’s rule over your life, even claiming treason because he was your king before you accepted Yeshuwa as your Savior and King.

Satan tries to usurp kingship over the nations by diverting their attention away from Elohiym and Yeshuwa, His Son. Many people and nations believe the lies and kill those who believe Yeshuwa as their Savior and Lord.

As Christians, you are to stand guard over your heart, protecting it from the lies Satan tells you, and killing every thought that would take over your life and take you away from Yeshuwa. He alone is your King and your Elohiym. He alone sets up the rulers of the nations or casts them down. He alone will cast Satan into the lake of fire when He comes to rule and reign as KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. The only way you can guard your heart from evil is to read and study Yeshuwa’s Word. Spend time in Bible study with other believers. Pray and seek His face and will in everything in your life. When you do, Satan will have no hold over you and he will flee from you.

Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from Theos, and the authorities that exist are appointed by Theos.

 (NKJV)

2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in Theos for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of Theos, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christos, 6 and being ready to punish every disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

Revelation 19:11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.

12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.

13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

14 The armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.

15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16 He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Revelation 19:19 I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies gathered to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.

20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Revelation 20:10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

When you know the end of the story, you have every weapon at your disposal to tell Satan to flee, and he will.

Let’s pray: Father, thank you that You are my God, my King, my Savior, and my Lord. You alone will rule and reign when You return with the armies of heaven. Help me guard my heart from every evil intention Satan has against me and watch him flee in defeat. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
