Day 33 – Trust

2 Chronicles 31:1 Now when they finished everything, everyone present in Israel went out to the cities of Judah and broke the sacred pillars in pieces, cut down the wooden images, and threw down the high places and the altars—from Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh—until they had destroyed them. Then the children of Israel returned to their cities, every man to his possession.

2 Hezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and the Levites according to their divisions, each man according to his service, the priests and Levites for burnt offerings and peace offerings, to serve, to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the camp of JEHOVAH.

3 The king also appointed a portion of his possessions for the burnt offerings: for the morning and evening burnt offerings, the burnt offerings for the Sabbaths and the New Moons and the set feasts, as is written in the Law of JEHOVAH. 4 Moreover, he commanded the people who dwelt in Jerusalem to contribute support for the priests and the Levites, that they might devote themselves to the Law of JEHOVAH.

5 When the commandment circulated, the children of Israel brought in abundance the first fruits of grain and wine, oil and honey, and of the produce of the field; and they brought in abundantly the tithe of everything. 6 The children of Israel and Judah, who dwelt in the cities of Judah, brought the tithe of oxen and sheep; also, the tithe of holy things consecrated to JEHOVAH their Elohiym they laid in heaps. 7 In the third month they began laying them in heaps, and they finished in the seventh month. 8 When Hezekiah and the leaders came and saw the heaps, they blessed JEHOVAH and His people Israel.

9 Then Hezekiah questioned the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.

10 Azariah the chief priest, from the house of Zadok, answered him and said, “Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of JEHOVAH, we have had enough to eat and have plenty left, for JEHOVAH has blessed His people; and what is left is this great abundance.”

11 Now Hezekiah commanded them to prepare rooms in the house of JEHOVAH, and they prepared them.

12 Then they faithfully brought in the offerings, the tithes, and the dedicated things; Cononiah the Levite had charge of them, and Shimei his brother was the next. 13 Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, Mahath, and Benaiah were overseers under the hand of Cononiah and Shimei, his brother, at the commandment of Hezekiah the king and Azariah the ruler of the house of Elohiym.

14 Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the keeper of the East Gate, was over the freewill offerings to Elohiym, to distribute the offerings of JEHOVAH and the most holy things. 15 Under him were Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, his faithful assistants in the cities of the priests, to distribute allotments to their brethren by divisions, to the great as well as the small.

16 Besides those males from three years old and up who were written in the genealogy, they distributed to everyone who entered the house of JEHOVAH his daily portion for the work of his service, by his division, 17 and to the priests written in the genealogy according to their father’s house, and to the Levites from twenty years old and up according to their work, by their divisions, 18 and to everyone written in the genealogy—their little ones and their wives, their sons and daughters, the whole company of them—for in their faithfulness they sanctified themselves in holiness.

19 Also, for the sons of Aaron the priests, in the fields of the common lands of their cities, in every single city, there were men designated by name to distribute portions to the males among the priests and to everyone listed by genealogies among the Levites.

20 Thus Hezekiah did throughout Judah, and he did what was good and right and true before JEHOVAH his Elohiym.

21 In every work he began in the service of the house of Elohiym, in the law and in the commandment, to seek his Elohiym, he did it with his whole heart. Thus, he prospered.

God’s names:

JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

Elohiym – Supreme God

Yeshuwa – Jesus

Theos – Supreme Divinity

God’s character:

Generous

What does your life look like? Do you enjoy a bountiful life, or do you wonder if you will eat tomorrow?

Everything Hezekiah did in the sacrifices to Elohiym, the commandment to take care of the priests who worked in the temple, in the celebrations to JEHOVAH, Elohiym blessed him abundantly.

When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, did you accept Him with your whole heart? Did you put Yeshuwa first in your thoughts and actions? Or did you go on about your life wondering if Yeshuwa would help you, take care of you, and do everything He promised in His Word?

Many Christians don’t give their entire heart and life to Yeshuwa. They reserve a portion for themselves to take care of the minor situations that arise. They don’t want to bother Yeshuwa with the small things. Those same Christians experience lack in their lives and wonder why. They feel they are faithful to Yeshuwa. However, they don’t realize in reserving a portion for themselves, they don’t trust Yeshuwa with everything in their lives.

In the Sermon on the Mount, Yeshuwa taught the people to give to Elohiym first and everything they needed would be given to them. He told the people to consider the flowers of the field, the birds of the air, and then look at themselves to see what they missed in their lives. Then He told them if they put Elohiym first, they would have everything they needed.

Matthew 6:33 “Seek first the kingdom of Theos and His righteousness, and everything will be added to you.

What do you need in your life right now? What have you tried on your own to take care of your needs and nothing worked? Give your needs to Yeshuwa and watch Him take care of everything you need.

Hezekiah put Elohiym first in everything he did and Elohiym blessed him abundantly. JEHOVAH was generous in what He gave Hezekiah and His people because they were faithful to Him in everything.

When you display the same faithfulness to Yeshuwa as Hezekiah did, you will see Yeshuwa’s generosity in your life. You will see blessings, abundance, and Yeshuwa’s favor in your life.

Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Your generosity to Yeshuwa will multiply His blessings back to you. What do you need? Trust Yeshuwa to take care of you.

Let’s pray: Father, too often I fail to seek You first in those things I need. Help me seek You first in everything, especially those small things I think I can take care of on my own. Let me know Your generous nature in my life as I trust You to take care of me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
