Daily writing prompt
Who was your most influential teacher? Why?

When it comes to education, there were two teachers who were the most influential in my life – Mrs. Reinke, my fourth-grade teacher, and my fifth grade teacher. Mrs. Reinke taught me math so I could understand it and finally get a handle on it. Math was my weakest subject throughout school. My fifth grade teacher also helped me with math, though there was no help with the new math that confused me and tried to unlearn everything Mrs. Reinke taught me, however, my fifth grade teacher helped me understand fractions.

My most influential teacher in college was the lab teacher who helped me understand math. I needed one on one, not the classroom where I would have no hope of survival in the math world. With help from the lab teacher, I finally understood math basics, but because I was in the Architectural program, I also needed to understand geometry, trigonometry, algebra, and physics. She didn’t help me with physics, that was another influential teacher.

With the help of these teachers I achieved good grades, graduating from college with an overall high grade point average. I wasn’t honors, but I was close.

Who was your most influential teacher. Let me know in the comments. Thanks for reading. The picture is my high school graduation picture.
