Good afternoon from cool, cloudy Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. It’s currently 34 F.
If I were your typical negative person, which thankfully, I’m not, I would tell you today was a bad day, which it’s not. You see, I’ve had this cold since Friday. It kept me home from church yesterday, and feeling like I’m washed out. However, that’s not the story.
Yes, I’m thankful. I’m thankful for the quiet time these days offered. I got a lot of work done on Firestorm. Today, I started writing again. I’m now on chapter 12.
I’m thankful for the scale. I needed to lose seven pounds since last week when I consumed more sodium than I’m used to with all the wonderful corned beef and cabbage meals I had. I started loosing six ounces two days in a row and then this morning, I lost three pounds of the seven I gained. 😀 I did it eating almost normally. I had this crazy dark chocolate craving going since Friday. I consumed two bags of dark chocolate and continued to lose weight. I know everything I gained last week was water weight. Since Friday at least, my eating has gone back to normal, meaning no extra sodium in my diet. I’ve also been drinking a lot of water and tea. I’m hoping this cold will be history soon.
I’m thankful for good friends. My friend I go to Bible study with put me on the prayer chain to get rid of this cold. Prayer works. Never turn down an offer for someone to pray for or with you. That said, I will need to cancel this week’s activities. Bible study tomorrow and prayer on Wednesday night upstairs. I lead that. It wouldn’t be a good idea to go up there and spread this cold to others.
Okay, that’s my day. I did get all my steps walking the halls when I expected the least number of people around. I almost didn’t run into anyone. Two people, and I stayed as far from them as possible.
Now to stop coughing and blowing and my life would be perfect. Instead, I’m thankful. Thankful to enjoy life and the sunshine that just came out and hit my monitor screen. It’s nice to have sunshine at 5:30 p.m.
What are you thankful for today? I’d love to hear in the comments. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.
