Day 67 – Defender
Esther 7:1 Then the king and Haman went to dine with Queen Esther.
2 On the second day, at the banquet of wine, the king again said to Esther, “What is your petition, Queen Esther? It will be granted to you. What is your request, up to half the kingdom? It will be done!”
3 Then Queen Esther answered and said, “If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it pleases the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request. 4 For we have been sold, my people and I, to be destroyed, to be killed, and to be annihilated. Had we been sold as male and female slaves, I would have held my tongue, although the enemy could never compensate for the king’s loss.”
5 King Ahasuerus answered and said to Queen Esther, “Who is he, and where is he, who would dare presume in his heart to do such a thing?”
6 Esther said, “The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman!”
Then Haman was terrified before the king and queen.
7 Then the king arose in his wrath from the banquet of wine and went into the palace garden; but Haman stood before Queen Esther, pleading for his life, for he saw that evil was determined against him by the king.
8 When the king returned from the palace garden to the place of the banquet of wine, Haman had fallen across the couch where Esther was. Then the king said, “Will he also assault the queen while I am in the house?” As the word left the king’s mouth, they covered Haman’s face.
9 Now Harbonah, one of the eunuchs, said to the king, “Look! The gallows, fifty cubits high, which Haman made for Mordecai, who spoke good on the king’s behalf, is standing at the house of Haman.”
Then the king said, “Hang him on it!”
10 Thus, they hung Haman on the gallows he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king’s wrath subsided.
God’s names:
Yeshuwa – Jesus
Elohiym – Supreme God
JEHOVAH – Self-existing, Eternal
Theos – Supreme Divinity
God’s character:
Judge
Executioner
Defender
You laid out your plans. Your cause is just. It’s time to implement those plans. Your only hope is that they succeed.
Did Esther hesitate in asking for the king and Haman to come a second time to the banquet before she answered the king’s question? It might seem like it, but no. She didn’t hesitate. Elohiym had one more piece to put in place so that when Esther answered the king, he would know the wickedness devised by Haman. As soon as Esther answered the king’s question, and King Ahasuerus saw what Haman devised against Mordecai and the Jewish people, and realized Esther was also a Jew, he hung Haman on the gallows he prepared for Mordecai.
Many times, you want to move forward with your plans. You know Yeshuwa put His stamp of approval on the plans. However, you need to wait for Him and not go ahead of His plans for you. When you wait, He will come through in ways you didn’t foresee.
Esther didn’t know about the king’s sleepless night, but she saw the effects of it when Haman led Mordecai through the streets declaring what would happen to the person the king delighted in. She also didn’t know about the gallows Haman built to hang Mordecai on when he led Mordecai through the streets on the king’s horse. Elohiym needed to put everything in place so that when Esther answered the question, he would act accordingly.
You need to follow the steps Yeshuwa lays out for you to get the results He plans for you. When you do, you will see the best possible results. For the Jewish people, the best result was for King Ahasuerus to hang Haman on the gallows he prepared for Mordecai.
Satan makes plans against you every day. You need to defeat him at his game. You can only do that when you rely on Yeshuwa for the result. Read your Bible, study to understand His will for your life, pray, and spend time with other believers. When you do, Yeshuwa’s plans for your life will see fulfillment in the best possible way.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says JEHOVAH, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and hope.
When you trust Yeshuwa to lead your life, you will see blessings that far exceed your imagination.
John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (NKJV)
Are you ready to live the abundant life and see your enemy defeated as Esther saw hers defeated when the king hung Haman on the gallows?
2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to Theos, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
When you read and study Yeshuwa’s Word, He will always defend you against Satan and bring about His plans for you.
Let’s pray: Father, let me depend on You and Your plans for my life and wait on You to fulfill them at the appointed time. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
