Day 68 – Defender

Esther 8:1 On that day King Ahasuerus gave Queen Esther the house of Haman, the enemy of the Jews. Mordecai came before the king, for Esther had told how he was related to her.

2 Then the king took off his signet ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it to Mordecai; and Esther appointed Mordecai over the house of Haman.

3 Now Esther spoke again to the king, fell at his feet, and implored him with tears to counteract the evil of Haman the Agagite, and the scheme which he had devised against the Jews.

4 The king held out the golden scepter toward Esther. Then Esther arose and stood before the king, 5 and said, “If it pleases the king, and if I have found favor in his sight and the thing seems right to the king and I am pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to revoke the letters devised by Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to annihilate the Jews in the king’s provinces. 6 For how can I endure to see the evil that will come to my people? Or how can I endure to see the destruction of my countrymen?”

7 Then King Ahasuerus said to Queen Esther and Mordecai the Jew, “Indeed, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and they have hanged him on the gallows because he tried to lay his hand on the Jews. 8 You, yourselves, write a decree concerning the Jews, as you please, in the king’s name, and seal it with the king’s signet ring; for whatever is written in the king’s name and sealed with the king’s signet ring no one can revoke.”

9 Then they called the king’s scribes, in the third month, the month of Sivan, on the twenty-third day; and wrote, according to everything Mordecai commanded, to the Jews, the satraps, the governors, and the princes of the provinces from India to Ethiopia, one hundred and twenty-seven provinces, to every province in its own script, to every people in their own language, and to the Jews in their own script and language. 10 He wrote in the name of King Ahasuerus, sealed it with the king’s signet ring, and sent letters by couriers on horseback, riding on royal horses bred from swift steeds.

11 By these letters the king permitted the Jews in every city to gather and protect their lives—to destroy, kill, and annihilate the forces of any people or province that would assault them, both little children and women, and to plunder their possessions, 12 on one day in the provinces of King Ahasuerus, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar.

13 A copy of the document was to be issued as a decree in every province and published for the people, so that the Jews would be ready on that day to avenge themselves on their enemies.

14 The couriers who rode on royal horses went out, hastened and pressed on by the king’s command. The decree was issued in Shushan the citadel.

15 Thus, Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, with a great crown of gold and a garment of fine linen and purple; and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.

16 The Jews had light and gladness, joy and honor.

17 In every province and city, wherever the king’s command and decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a holiday. Then many of the people of the land became Jews, because fear of the Jews fell upon them.

Yeshuwa – Jesus

Elohiym – Supreme God

Theos – Supreme Divinity

Kurios – Supreme Authority

Pneuma – Violent Wind, Whirlwind, Breath, Spirit

Christos – Anointed One, Messiah

God’s character:

Protector

Defender

Everything is going well, however, not everything is in place yet. What do you next?

Esther saved her people; however, the decree hadn’t been changed yet for the people to defend themselves when the time came for those in the people in the provinces to kill the Jews on the date Haman chose for their annihilation. Therefore, Esther went before the king one more time to plead with the king for the defense of her people, and the king granted her request. He told Mordecai and Esther to write the new decree.

Satan is never finished with his plan to destroy Yeshuwa’s people. Elohiym wrote a decree, His Word, and signed it in the blood of the Lamb of Elohiym. You have every promise of protection from Satan’s attack on your life. You only need to read and study the decree to know your rights as a Christian.

When you stand on the promises found in Yeshuwa’s Word, you will take up the shield of faith in your defense and defeat every weapon Satan uses against you. With the sword of the Pneuma, the Word of Theos, you will thrust Satan’s lies and destroy him so that he will flee from you.

2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.

4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in Theos for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of Theos, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christos, 6 and being ready to punish every disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Kurios and in the power of His might.

11 Put on the whole armor of Theos, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places.

13 Therefore, take up the whole armor of Theos, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand.

14 Stand, therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above everything, taking the shield of faith with which you can quench the fiery darts of the wicked one.

17 Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Pneuma, which is the word of Theos; 18 praying always with prayer and supplication in the Pneuma, being watchful to this end with perseverance and supplication for the saints—

James 4:7 Therefore, submit to Theos. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Esther did everything she could to save her people. She went before the king and pleaded with him. Have you gone before the KING of Kings and the LORD of Lords to plead for your people, your family, friends, and loved ones for their salvation?

Yeshuwa already held out the golden scepter of salvation. You only need to grasp it and stand in faith, believing in His salvation for your loved ones.

Let’s pray: Father, thank you for Your salvation. Thank you for holding out the golden scepter to me and defending me and going ahead of me into battle and defeating Satan when I stand on Your Word. Let my praise go before You as You defeat Satan and fight my battles to bring my family and loved ones into Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
