Day 70 – Life
Esther 10:1 King Ahasuerus imposed tribute on the land and on the islands of the sea.
2 Now the acts of his power and his might, and the account of the greatness of Mordecai, to which the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?
3 For Mordecai the Jew was second to King Ahasuerus and was great among the Jews and well received by the multitude of his brethren, seeking the good of his people and speaking peace to his countrymen.
God’s name:
Yeshuwa – Jesus
Elohiym – Supreme God
JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
Ruwach – Violent Wind, Breath, Spirit
God’s character:
Peace
King
Salvation
How do you want to be remembered when you die? Most people want people to think well of them, some intentionally do good things in life so people will speak well of them.
Mordecai was well thought of by everyone because he sought the good of his people and spoke peace to them. People remember him as the one man instrumental in saving a nation. If Mordecai hadn’t uncovered Haman’s plot and told Esther about it, things could have gone differently. However, he did uncover the plot and told Esther and the rest is history.
What role do you play in history? How will history remember you? When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, Elohiym noticed, wrote your name down in the Lamb’s Book of Life, and recorded everything you did from the moment you were born.
Psalm 139:1 (For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.) O JEHOVAH, You have searched me and known me.
2 You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off.
3 You comprehend my path and my lying down and are acquainted with my ways.
4 For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O JEHOVAH, You know it altogether.
5 You have hedged me behind and before and laid Your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain it.
7 Where can I go from Your Ruwach? Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, 10 even there Your hand will lead me, and Your right hand will hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will fall on me,” even the night will be light about me; 12 indeed, the darkness will not hide from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You.
13 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book, they were written, the days fashioned for me, when yet there were none of them.
17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O Elohiym! How great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; when I awake, I am still with You.
Nothing you do is hidden from Elohiym. Nothing. It doesn’t matter what people say about you when you die. What matters is what Yeshuwa knows about you and how He receives you when you cross over from this life into eternal life.
Mordecai was well-loved by his people and by the Persians. His life was a life of service to his king. Is your life a life of service to your King? Mordecai was a man of peace. Are you a peaceful person? Do you seek the peace of others?
In the narrative of Mordecai’s life, you see him as a symbol of Yeshuwa, a man of peace. Yeshuwa is your Peace, your Salvation, and your King. Live your life in honor of the KING of Kings and the LORD of Lords. Then not only will people remember you, but heaven will receive you.
Let’s pray: Father, let my life show my love for You in everything I do. Let me praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Thank you that my name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Let me be an instrument of Your glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
