I’ve made a lot of decisions in my life. Some good, some not so good. All of them were learning opportunities.
My first decision at the age of eight years old became a life-long journey when I decided I could write a television western episode better than the writers. By the way, I still hate that episode every time I see it. I published Scarred in 2012 and now have nine books published with that one.

I decided to take German and French in high school. It was also a good decision. Learning another language ultimately led to my A in English. I call that not only growth in the right direction, but a win as well. 😁
My third decision led me into the Navy. I had been reading the brochures for the various branches of service every time I went to the eye doctor. Living in a small town, the recruiting office was in the same place as the eye doctor. By the time I graduated from high school I had decided to go into either the Navy or Air Force. I liked the blue uniform. Then the day came when I told my mother my plans to go into the Navy. To help make the decision about the branch of service, I played high card. Navy won. I told my mother and my mother told my father. She told me Dad didn’t approve. I said I didn’t care, I was going into the Navy. My determination won over my father and he signed on the dotted line for my joining the Navy. The good thing about the Navy was not only the sense of duty and patriotism I gained, I met my husband in the Navy.

My fourth decision and the most important happened on April 22, 1980. I was working on a Sunday school lesson. The question, ‘Could you die for your faith,’ stopped me in my tracks. I couldn’t put a T on the line. It was in that moment I heard clearly as if He stood beside me, “Why not?” I bowed my head and prayed accepting Jesus as my Savior and Lord. It was a decision I never regretted. I’ll be 45 years in the Lord next week. I’ve learned a lot and continue to learn. I’ve grown a lot and continue to grow. I will never stop learning and growing and I like it that way.

I’m sure there are other decisions I’ve made in my life, but these stand out as the ones that guided my life on the journey I’ve been on for 71 almost 72 years.
What decision led you to the place you are today? Thanks for reading. The images belong to me.
