Day 94 – Faith

Job 35:1 Moreover Elihu answered and said, 2 “Do you think this is right? Do you say, ‘My righteousness is more than Elohiym’s’? 3 For you say, ‘What advantage will it be to You? What profit would I have, more than if I had sinned?’

4 “I will answer you, and your companions with you. 5 Look at the heavens and see; and behold the clouds; they are higher than you. 6 If you sin, what do you accomplish against Him? Or, if your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to Him? 7 If you are righteous, what do you give Him? Or what does He receive from your hand? 8 Your wickedness affects a man such as you, and your righteousness a son of man.

9 “Because of the multitude of oppressions, they cry out; they cry out for help because of the arm of the mighty. 10 However, no one says, ‘Where is Elohiym my Asah, Who gives songs in the night, 11 Who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth and makes us wiser than the birds of heaven?’ 12 There they cry out, but He does not answer, because of the pride of evil men. 13 Elohiym will not listen to empty talk, nor will the Shadday regard it. 14 Although you say you do not see Him, yet justice is before Him, and you must wait for Him. 15 Now, because He has not punished in His anger, nor taken much notice of folly, 16 therefore Job opens his mouth in vain; He multiplies words without knowledge.”

God’s names:

Elohiym – Supreme God

Asah – Maker

Shadday – Almighty

Yeshuwa – Jesus

God’s character:

Just

Righteous

People believe they can do whatever they want without getting caught. They also believe they can make people believe what they say without condemnation.

Elihu continued his discourse against Job. He is convinced that Job sinned against Elohiym and mounted up his sins with his righteous attitude.

How does a person go from being someone people could count on, a person who stood with Elohiym, not against Him, prayed for His children, took care of his servants, and helped those in need, to the worst sinner overnight? He doesn’t.

As Christians, your character will always be in question. People will do their best to tell everyone you are not as righteous as you appear. They will tell everyone who listens that Yeshuwa doesn’t answer your prayers because you have unconfessed sin in your life.

It isn’t people who will do that to you, but Satan. He whispers in people’s ears about you, lying about you and turning friends into enemies. Your life becomes a cooking pot of evil intentions and actions. Everything you do for people is left by the wayside. People no longer see the good you did for others, they see manipulation. Even other Christians will buy into Satan’s lies, especially when they see you going from one crisis to another.

Job never once wavered in his convictions. He trusted Elohiym and maintained his innocence in the face of the accusations brought against him.

You need to be like Job, unwavering in your faith. You need to trust Yeshuwa, read, study, pray, without doubting. Only then will you see Yeshuwa bring you through the test and see Satan flee from you.

Job kept quiet in the face of the accusations brought against him. Yeshuwa also kept quiet when His accusers brought false charges against Him. Nothing good comes from defending yourself against false accusations. People will misconstrue what you say. However, they can’t misconstrue your silence. When you don’t add fuel to the fire, the flames die out. When you don’t defend yourself, Satan can’t bring more accusations against you.

What crisis do you face? Trust Yeshuwa to bring you through.

Let’s pray: Father, my life is in Your hands. Help me keep silent in the face of Satan’s accusations against me. Let me know that no matter what, You stand beside me, keeping me safe in the storm. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
