When I think about what makes me nervous, a couple of things come to mind. First would be heights. Even stepping one step up a ladder or step ladder makes my heart beat faster. I much prefer a solid floor under me.
Public speaking is another thing that makes me nervous. Getting up in front of people makes me shake uncontrollably. When I read at Writer’s Guild, I read fast to get the reading done. I would love to get up in front of people without shaking, but it never happens. Even my voice shakes.
Confrontation also makes me nervous. There have been two times in my life when I confronted someone without thinking about it first and let the person know exactly how I felt about what they said or did against someone I care about. When I think about it first, confrontation debilitates me.
Telling someone ‘no’ also makes me nervous. I’m so afraid people will condemn me and treat me badly if I don’t do what they want. I’m learning to say no. It isn’t easy.
That’s what makes me nervous. What about you? What makes you nervous? Let me know in the comments. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.
