Back in 2012 I published the first edition of Scarred. I bought a book called Chicken Soup for the Writer’s Soul. A chapter in the book is devoted to self-publishing. When I finished reading the book and before I thought about it over long, I went online to search out self-publishing companies. The first one I found was WestBow Press. I reached out to them, paid the publishing fee, and the rest is history. Though now, I publish with KDP Direct. No fees, completely free, though I do all the work, editing, and marketing. Scarred is in the third edition.
This was a risk for me because of the huge fear of rejection I carried with me my entire life. I didn’t think anyone would like my books or what I wrote. When I started getting five star reviews on Scarred, it shocked me and made me so happy that I took the risk and published Scarred. The other books in the series followed over the next several years, and now I have nine books published. I no longer wonder if people will like them. I know they do. People tell me how they suffer from insomnia because they can’t put my books down.
You can find my books on the site and read the blurbs to see if you would find them interesting. They are in two formats: paperback and Kindle on Amazon. Thank you if you help out a poor starving author.
Thank you for reading. What risk did you take you don’t regret? Let me know in the comments.
