Day 100 – Reputation
Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 but his delight is in the law of JEHOVAH, and in His law, he meditates day and night.
3 He will be like a tree planted by rivers of water, that bears fruit in its season, whose leaf also will not wither; and whatever he does will prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Therefore, the ungodly will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For JEHOVAH knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly will perish.
God’s names:
JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
Yeshuwa – Jesus
God’s character:
Judge
What kind of person are you? Everyone has a reputation whether good or bad. Parents do their best to teach their children right from wrong and hope they will grow to become responsible adults.
In this psalm, David shows the difference between good and bad people and what JEHOVAH would do to them. They would either enjoy eternal life, or eternal punishment.
When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, you changed your reputation. Before you accepted Yeshuwa, Satan controlled your life. Your eternal destination and reputation led to Hell. However, when you accepted Yeshuwa, your eternal destination became eternal life with Yeshuwa in heaven.
You also changed your reading material. You started reading the Bible and meditating on Yeshuwa’s Word. When you did, you became like the well-watered trees growing by rivers. You drank in Yeshuwa’s Word and gained nourishment from its pages. As you did, you grew into a mature Christian able to discern right from wrong.
What kind of people do you associate with? Do they bring you down and give you a bad reputation or do they lift you up and show you to be a Christian dependent on Yeshuwa’s Word to guide you throughout your day?
Consider your ways and your eternal destination. Meditate on Yeshuwa’s Word. Drink from its fountain of living water. Then people will know what kind of person you are.
Let’s pray: Father, I want to meditate on Your Word, drinking from its pages that give life to my spirit, nourishing my soul. Let Your Word dwell in me and give life to my spirit. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
