Day 105 – Expectation

Psalm 6:1 (To the Chief Musician. With stringed instruments. On an eight-stringed harp. A Psalm of David.) O JEHOVAH do not rebuke me in Your anger, nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure.

2 Have mercy on me, O JEHOVAH, for I am weak; O JEHOVAH, heal me, for my bones are troubled.

3 My soul also is greatly troubled; but You, O JEHOVAH—how long?

4 Return, O JEHOVAH, deliver me! Oh, save me for Your mercies’ sake!

5 For in death there is no remembrance of You; in the grave who will give You thanks?

6 I am weary with my groaning; throughout the night I make my bed swim; I drench my couch with my tears.

7 My eye is wasting away because of grief; it grows old because of my enemies.

8 Depart from me, you workers of iniquity; for JEHOVAH heard the voice of my weeping.

9 JEHOVAH heard my supplication; JEHOVAH will receive my prayer.

10 Let my enemies be ashamed and greatly troubled; let them turn back and be ashamed.

Elohiym – Supreme God

Iesous – Jesus

Kurios – Supreme Authority

God’s character:

At times people feel like life is hemming them in on every side without a way to defend themselves. What do you do when life overwhelms you?

David prayed to JEHOVAH, the source of his strength because he knew He would hear him. He knew JEHOVAH would deliver him from his enemies. David strengthened himself in JEHOVAH when people overwhelmed him.

1 Samuel 30:6 Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. However, David strengthened himself in JEHOVAH his Elohiym.

David expected four things from JEHOVAH:

  1. His mercy
  2. Healing
  3. Deliverance
  4. He would listen to his prayers for help

When you pray to Yeshuwa do you have the same expectations David did when he prayed? Do you expect Him to hear and answer your prayers?

Many Christians pray with half a heart. They say the words, but their heart and faith aren’t in what they pray.

Yeshuwa told the people if they had faith as small as a grain of mustard seed, they could tell the mountain to move, and it would move.

Matthew 17:19 Then the disciples came to Iesous privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?”

20 Iesous said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask Theos, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

6 However, let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

7 For let not that man suppose he will receive anything from the Kurios; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in his ways.

You need to pray as David did, with expectation. When you do, you will move mountains. You will see your prayers answered and those things that overwhelmed you will back off and not come against you.

What situations do you face that feel overwhelming? Pray with expectation and watch Yeshuwa take care of the matter.

Let’s pray: Father, many times I feel overwhelmed by life. Let me trust You with faith as small as a mustard seed and watch You take my troubles from me. Let me pray with expectation of what You can do for me when Satan troubles me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
