Day 106 – Justice

Psalm 7:1 (A Meditation of David, which he sang to JEHOVAH concerning the words of Cush, a Benjamite.) O JEHOVAH my Elohiym, in You I put my trust; save me from those who persecute me; and deliver me, 2 lest they tear me like a lion, rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver. 3 O JEHOVAH my Elohiym, if I have done this: if there is iniquity in my hands, 4 if I repaid evil to him who was at peace with me, or plundered my enemy without cause, 5 let the enemy pursue me and overtake me; yes, let him trample my life to the earth, and lay my honor in the dust. Selah

6 Arise, O JEHOVAH, in Your anger; lift Yourself up because of the rage of my enemies; rise for me to the judgment You commanded! 7 Then the congregation of the people will surround You; for their sake, therefore, return on high.

8 JEHOVAH will judge the people; judge me, O JEHOVAH, according to my righteousness, and according to my integrity within me. 9 Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just; for the righteous Elohiym tests the hearts and minds. 10 My defense is of Elohiym, who saves the upright in heart. 11 Elohiym is a just judge, and Elohiym is angry with the wicked every day. 12 If he does not turn back, He will sharpen His sword; He bends His bow and makes it ready. 13 He also prepares for Himself instruments of death; He makes His arrows into fiery shafts.

14 Behold, the wicked brings forth iniquity; yes, he conceives trouble and brings forth falsehood. 15 He made a pit and dug it out and fell into the ditch he made. 16 His trouble will return upon his head, and his violent dealing will come down on his crown.

17 I will praise JEHOVAH according to His righteousness and will sing praise to the name of JEHOVAH Elyown.

God’s names:

JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

Elohiym – Supreme God

Elyown – Supreme, Most High

Yeshuwa – Jesus

God’s character:

Judge

Savior

Deliverer

Righteous

What do you do when people come against you? Do you retaliate in kind? Do you do to them as they did to you? Many people take justice into their hands and make situations worse than they were.

David turned the situation with Cush over to JEHOVAH. He asked Him to save and deliver him from his enemies. David asked JEHOVAH to judge the wicked and bring about justice for him because he trusted in Elohiym.

When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, He promised to fight for you and take vengeance on your enemies. Though it might seem like you have many enemies coming against you, you only have one, Satan. Instead of retaliating like those who don’t trust in Yeshuwa, take your petition to Him and watch Him destroy Satan for your sake because you trust in Him.

What situations do you face? Don’t try to take vengeance yourself, give it to Yeshuwa. He will cause Satan to flee because He fights for you as His child.

Let’s pray: Father, help me turn my trouble over to You when Satan comes against me. Let me see my troubles disappear because You fight my battles and take vengeance on my enemy, Satan. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
