Day 108 – Trust
Psalm 9:1 (To the Chief Musician. To the tune of “Death of the Son.” A Psalm of David.) I will praise You, O JEHOVAH, with my whole heart; I will tell of Your marvelous works. 2 I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Elyown. 3 When my enemies turn back, they will fall and perish at Your presence. 4 For You maintained my right and my cause; You sat on the throne judging in righteousness. 5 You rebuked the nations, You destroyed the wicked; You blotted out their name forever and ever. 6 O enemy, destructions are finished forever! You destroyed cities; even their memory perished. 7 However, JEHOVAH will endure forever; He prepared His throne for judgment. 8 He will judge the world in righteousness; He will administer judgment for the people in uprightness. 9 JEHOVAH also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. 10 Those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for You, JEHOVAH, have not forsaken those who seek You.
11 Sing praises to JEHOVAH, who dwells in Zion! Declare His deeds among the people. 12 When He avenges blood, He remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the humble. 13 Have mercy on me, O JEHOVAH! Consider my trouble from those who hate me, You who lift me from the gates of death, 14 that I may tell of Your praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion. I will rejoice in Your salvation. 15 The nations sunk down in the pit they made; in the net they hid, their foot is caught. 16 JEHOVAH is known by the judgment He executes; the wicked is snared in the work of his hands. Meditation. Selah
17 The wicked will be turned into hell, and the nations that forget God. 18 For the needy will not always be forgotten; the expectation of the poor will not perish forever. 19 Arise, O JEHOVAH, do not let man prevail; let the nations be judged in Your sight. 20 Put them in fear, O JEHOVAH, that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah

What do you do when things go wrong? Do you sing the blues? Do you count your woes? Do you take pity on yourself? Or do you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and find a reason to see past the trouble?
David wrote a song to a specific tune, Death of a Son. We don’t know the specific circumstances that precipitated the song, but we can surmise it dealt with the death of his son born to Bathsheba. You might recall he spent seven days fasting and praying during that time. Instead of singing the blues, he sang praises to JEHOVAH. He recounted His works, His judgment, and His mercy. He told how JEHOVAH would judge the wicked and show mercy on those who put their trust in Him.
When you put your trust in Yeshuwa to take care of you in the good times, you will see His faithfulness when you face hard times. When Satan comes against you to destroy you, Yeshuwa will stand against him and defeat him. You only need to trust and obey Him as David did. He leaned on JEHOVAH in good times and bad. David saw what JEHOVAH did to his enemies. You will see what Yeshuwa will do to your enemies when you trust Him.
You know what Yeshuwa will do to your enemies; they will spend eternity in Hell, while you who trust Him will spend eternity with Him in His presence.
Instead of singing the blues, sing His praises and watch Yeshuwa fight your battles and cause Satan to flee from you.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for going before me into the battle. Let my songs of praise come into Your throne room and make a way for Satan’s defeat in my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
