Day 109 – Justice

Psalm 10:1 Why do You stand afar off, O JEHOVAH? Why do You hide in times of trouble? 2 The wicked in his pride persecutes the poor; let them be caught in the plots which they devised. 3 For the wicked boasts of his heart’s desire; he blesses the greedy and renounces JEHOVAH. 4 The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek Elohiym; Elohiym is in none of his thoughts. 5 His ways always prosper; Your judgments are far above, out of his sight; as for his enemies, he sneers at them. 6 He said in his heart, “I will not be moved; I will never be in adversity.” 7 His mouth is full of cursing, deceit, and oppression; under his tongue is trouble and iniquity. 8 He sits in the lurking places of the villages; in the secret places he murders the innocent; he secretly fixes his eyes on the helpless. 9 He lies in wait secretly, like a lion in his den; he lies in wait to catch the poor; he catches the poor when he draws him into his net. 10 So he crouches, he lies low, That the helpless may fall by his strength. 11 He said in his heart, “Elohiym has forgotten; He hides His face; He will never see.”

12 Arise, O JEHOVAH! O Elohiym, lift Your hand! Do not forget the humble. 13 Why do the wicked renounce Elohiym? He said in his heart, “You will not require an account.” 14 However, You have seen, for You observe trouble and grief, to repay it by Your hand. The helpless commits himself to You; You are the helper of the fatherless. 15 Break the arm of the wicked and the evil man; seek out his wickedness until You find none. 16 JEHOVAH is King forever and ever; the nations perished out of His land. 17 JEHOVAH, You heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart; You will cause Your ear to hear, 18 to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may oppress no more.

God’s names:

JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

Elohiym – Supreme God

Yeshuwa – Jesus

God’s character:

King

Just

Everyone knows people who believe they don’t need Elohiym. They have wealth and power and do whatever they want without consequences.

The psalmist points out that people in power oppress the poor and needy. They take without consequences, not realizing, Elohiym will judge them and bring justice to the poor and needy.

Many Christians feel the oppression of those with more wealth and power than they. However, they don’t feel powerless because they know Yeshuwa will rescue them and bring those who believe they don’t need Elohiym to their knees. Those with power will find there are consequences for their behavior. Yeshuwa will bring His people out of their trouble. They have nothing to fear when Yeshuwa fights for them.

What troubles do you face? Take them to Yeshuwa and watch Him take care of them. Those who oppressed you won’t oppress you much longer as Yeshuwa fights for you.

Let’s pray: Father, You know the troubles I face, and You know Satan is behind my trouble. Fight for me because I trust in You. Let me stand on the head of the beast, knowing You fought for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
