Day 111 – Tolerance

Psalm 12:1 (To the Chief Musician. On an eight-stringed harp. A Psalm of David.) Help, JEHOVAH, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men. 2 They speak idly everyone with their neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart they speak. 3 May JEHOVAH cut off flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things, 4 who have said, “With our tongue we will prevail; our lips are our own; who is JEHOVAH over us?” 5 “For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now I will arise,” says JEHOVAH; “I will set him in the safety for which he yearns.” 6 The words of JEHOVAH are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 You will keep them, O JEHOVAH, You will preserve them from this generation forever. 8 The wicked prowl on every side, when vileness is exalted among the sons of men.

God’s names:

JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal

Yeshuwa – Jesus

God’s character:

Protector

Does this psalm sound familiar with today’s society? When you look around, it’s hard to find godly men. People use flattery as a ticket to fit in and find acceptance.

What David saw in his day, is found everywhere today. People haven’t changed. David cried out to JEHOVAH to keep godly people safe from those who flatter with their lips. JEHOVAH answered him and told David He would keep His people safe. David acknowledged JEHOVAH’S words as pure as silver tried in a furnace heated seven times. He also knew JEHOVAH would keep His people safe from vile and wicked people.

What is your life like as a Christian? Do you see flattery in church and among Yeshuwa’s people? Does the church resemble the world? It’s hard to tell the difference between a child of Yeshuwa and a child of the world. They speak the same language and use the same flattery.

As Christians, you need to set yourselves apart from the world so people will know you are Christians. The world speaks tolerance and the church goes along. You need to let the world know you won’t tolerate evil. You won’t find peace and safety if you’re courting the devil.

Satan will use any means at his disposal to cause Christians to accept his vision for society. You need to take a stand against Satan and let him, and the world know you belong to Yeshuwa and He will keep you safe from whatever evil Satan devises against you.

The saying, ‘Flattery will get you everywhere’ won’t find its way in Yeshuwa’s plan for your life. Stop imitating the world and set your heart and mind on Yeshuwa and His purpose for you. Only then will Yeshuwa give you peace and safety in your life.

Let’s pray: Father, Your Word says You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You. Keep my mind on You and not on what the world offers. Help me not to become tolerant of the ways of the world but always seek Your way for my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
