
I love fruit over vegetables. I know I need both, but fruit tastes better and they’re loaded with those nutrients we all need. So are vegetables, but I prefer fruit.
- My number one fruit I try to eat every day, is bananas. Bananas are loaded with Potassium, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, and fiber. They improve digestion, help heart health, and regulate blood pressure. Besides that. I love them. They’re number One.
- Blueberries. Not to be outdone by bananas, blueberries are rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals to reduce the risk of diseases. They’re especially good for heart health, brain health, and digestion.
- Strawberries. Another powerhouse of health benefits, strawberries are high in Vitamin C, folate, an fiber. Strawberries are good for heart health. They are a good source of potassium and folate. They help regulate blood pressure and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. They support the immune system, digestive health, blood sugar control, antioxidant powerhouse, reduces inflammation, brain help, helping cognitive function, skin health, and weight management.
- Raspberries. Raspberries help with digestive management, help prevent cardiovascular disease, rich in antioxidants, fiber, help against cancer, weight management, eye health, skin health, and diabetes management.
- Blackberries. Blackberries are another powerhouse of prevention and health benefits for brain health, digestion, Vitamin C, dietary fiber, Vitamin K, antioxidant, Cancer prevention, boosts immunity, fights inflammation, heart health, regulate blood sugar, helps against cardiovascular disease, healthy weight management, eye health, reduce cholesterol, boost body functions, good for oral health, has manganese, vitamins and minerals, skin care, bone health and fiber filled.
These fruits fill my basket every month, several times a month as I do my best to keep them on hand. I also enjoy apples, oranges, melons, grapes, lemons, pineapple, and grapefruit.
With these powerhouses of health benefits, I feel like I’m in good health. I walk every day, my cognitive abilities aren’t lacking most of the time. I don’t suffer from heart trouble, diabetes, or cancer. I have one health issue. For a person my age, living in the senior community I do, I’m doing well. I keep myself active and eat a healthy diet every day. I’m even incorporating vegetables in my diet.
