Day 125 – Prayer

Psalm 26:1 (A Psalm of David.) Vindicate me, O JEHOVAH, For I walked in my integrity. I also trusted in JEHOVAH; I will not slip. 2 Examine me, O JEHOVAH, and prove me; try my mind and my heart. 3 For Your loving kindness is before my eyes, and I walked in Your truth. 4 I do not sit with idolatrous mortals, nor will I go in with hypocrites. 5 I hated the assembly of evildoers and will not sit with the wicked.

6 I will wash my hands in innocence; So, I will go about Your altar, O JEHOVAH, 7 that I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of Your wondrous works. 8 JEHOVAH, I love the habitation of Your house, and the place where Your glory dwells. 9 Do not gather my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloodthirsty men, 10 in whose hands is a sinister scheme, and whose right hand is full of bribes. 11 As for me, I will walk in my integrity; redeem me and be merciful to me. 12 My foot stands in an even place; in the congregations I will bless JEHOVAH.

When people go before a judge, they bring a list of reasons why the judge should pardon them with the help of a lawyer.

David brought his character and integrity to JEHOVAH, asking for His mercy and loving kindness against those who wanted to harm him. He told JEHOVAH how much he loved to go into His sanctuary and proclaimed his thanksgiving for everything JEHOVAH did.

As Christians, Satan comes against you, accusing you before JEHOVAH. Yeshuwa advocates for you because you are His child. He knows how much you trust and honor Him. Yet for His knowing your nature, you bring your reasons before JEHOVAH, asking for His mercy and grace.

Revelation 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our Theos, and the power of His Christos have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our Theos day and night, has been cast down.

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Pater, Iesous Christos the righteous. 2 He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

When you know where you stand as Yeshuwa’s child, you can go to Him for everything Satan tries to bring against you, and He will fight for you and pardon you when you sin.

David knew JEHOVAH would pardon him because he trusted in Him. However, he needed to pray for JEHOVAH to forgive him. Without prayer JEHOVAH wouldn’t act on David’s behalf. Without prayer, Yeshuwa won’t act on your behalf either.

Yeshuwa prayed to the Pater to act on behalf of His disciples. He did it often. He also prayed on your behalf because you are His child.

John 17:20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they may be one, as You, Pater, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 The glory which You gave Me I gave them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them as You loved Me.

Prayer is an essential part of your life. You need to do it often. Then you will know when Yeshuwa answers your prayers and works on your behalf.

Psalm 139:17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O Elohiym! How great is the sum of them! 18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; when I awake, I am still with You.

Yeshuwa’s thoughts are always toward you. You are always with Him. Therefore, pray and let Him know what is heavy in your heart. Let Him know you trust Him to answer your prayers.

Let’s pray: Father, too often I leave prayer behind and try to take care of things on my own. Forgive me. You promised to hear me when I pray and bring my concerns before You. When Satan comes against me, let my prayers come before You. Let my prayers defeat him because You fight for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
