Day 129 – Thankfulness

Psalm 30:1 (A Psalm. A Song at the dedication of the house of David.) I will extol You, O JEHOVAH, for You lifted me, and did not let my foes rejoice over me. 2 O JEHOVAH my Elohiym, I cried to You, and You healed me. 3 O JEHOVAH, You brought my soul from the grave; You kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. 4 Sing praise to JEHOVAH, you saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. 5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

6 Now in my prosperity I said, “I will never be moved.” 7 JEHOVAH, by Your favor You made my mountain stand strong; You hid Your face, and I was troubled. 8 I cried to You, O JEHOVAH; and to JEHOVAH I made supplication: 9 “What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth? 10 Hear, O JEHOVAH, and have mercy on me; JEHOVAH, be my helper!” 11 You turned my mourning into dancing; You put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, 12 to the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O JEHOVAH my Elohiym, I will give thanks to You forever.

What humbles you? What brings you to your knees, not in defeat, but realizing the grace and mercy given to you?

David saw JEHOVAH’S grace and mercy in every battle he fought and every decision he made. When he humbled himself, JEHOVAH lifted him to a place of honor in front of his enemies. He never stopped praying for JEHOVAH’S help, and He heard him and answered his prayers. Therefore, David praised Him and gave Him glory. He could not keep silent at what JEHOVAH did for him.

How do you live your life? As one of entitlement because you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, or in holy awe of Him and what He did for you and continues to do for you every day? Do you shout His praise from the rooftops and gutters? Do people know what Yeshuwa did for you? Is your life a living testimony of what Yeshuwa did for you?

David said he would give JEHOVAH thanks forever. Are you thankful? Do you recognize Yeshuwa’s blessings in your life? Yeshuwa saved you from Hell and eternal destruction. Do you praise Him or take His salvation for granted?

Too often people go through the motions of salvation, not really understanding the full measure of what Yeshuwa did for them. They might accept His salvation to get out of the mess they’re in, and then walk away, only giving lip service for what He did for them. Others in the same situation praise Him for their salvation and give thanks every day for what Yeshuwa brought them from. They not only recognize the broken chains off their lives, they also physically break them by their words and actions. Satan no longer holds control over them.

Who controls you? Humble yourself today and recognize Yeshuwa’s love and forgiveness as you break the chains of death, Hell, and the grave from your life. Don’t go through the motions any longer. Give Yeshuwa praise, honor, and glory for resurrecting you and breaking Satan’s chains off your life.

Let’s pray: Father, let me never take my salvation for granted, causing me to go through the motions. Let me praise You and give You thanks for the untold blessings You give me every day. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
