Day 132 – Praise

Psalm 33:1 Rejoice in JEHOVAH, O you righteous! For praise from the upright is beautiful. 2 Praise JEHOVAH with the harp; make melody to Him with an instrument of ten strings. 3 Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy. 4 For the word of JEHOVAH is right, and His work is done in truth. 5 He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the goodness of JEHOVAH. 6 By the word of JEHOVAH the heavens were made, and the host of them by the breath of His mouth. 7 He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap; He lays up the deep in storehouses. 8 Let the earth fear JEHOVAH; let the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. 9 For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. 10 JEHOVAH brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the people of no effect. 11 The counsel of JEHOVAH stands forever, the plans of His heart to every generation.

12 Blessed is the nation whose Elohiym is JEHOVAH, the people He chose as His inheritance. 13 JEHOVAH looks from heaven; He sees the sons of men. 14 From the place of His dwelling He looks on the inhabitants of the earth; 15 He fashions their hearts individually; He considers their works. 16 No king is saved by the multitude of an army; a mighty man is not delivered by great strength. 17 A horse is a vain hope for safety; neither will it deliver by its great strength. 18 Behold, the eye of JEHOVAH is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy, 19 to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. 20 Our soul waits for JEHOVAH; He is our help and our shield. 21 For our heart will rejoice in Him, because we trust in His holy name. 22 Let Your mercy, O JEHOVAH, be upon us, just as we hope in You.

People put their trust in themselves and things and sing their praises to whomever will listen to them.

David penned songs of praise and sang them to JEHOVAH on his stringed instrument. He sang of JEHOVAH’S mighty works and rejoiced in His power. David related that nothing was as great as JEHOVAH to save people in battle, not the horse or his strength. Only JEHOVAH could save them.

When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, you sang praises to Him and glorified Him for everything He did in Your life and in creation. You rejoiced in your salvation. In your battle with Satan, you know only one person can help you, Yeshuwa.

However, many Christians became haughty and began taking credit for their accomplishments, forgetting who brought them through their battles and gave them their successes. Christians need to remember who saved them, delivered them from Satan, provided everything they needed, and helped them when they prayed to Him for help.

When you gather with other believers in church, pay attention to the words you sing and rejoice in your salvation. Rejoice because Yeshuwa conquered Hell, death, and the grave. He is the only one who could. Nothing you can do will bring about a victory in your life.

Read the psalm again and rejoice in your salvation.

Let’s pray: Father, thank you for reminding me that I cannot go through this life without You. Let my praise come before You, acknowledging everything You did for me as I worship You and give You glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
