Good evening from sunny, warm Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. It’s currently 64 F, but got warmer.
It was almost another day of vegging on the recliner with the heating pad, watching television. Almost.
I’m thankful I got the laundry done this morning, even if it did start the back problem again with bending over to pick up the laundry basket. You see, I’m not supposed to bend over since I fractured the L1-L2 vertebra two years ago building a snowman and ending up in the ER unable to walk.

Isn’t he adorable.
I’m thankful I could get the dishes run through the dishwasher. That was easier to accomplish.
I’m thankful I could get my walking done outside around the complex. I accomplished it by watching an hour and a half of television with the heating pad before I could walk outside. I did that twice to get all my steps. My back was doing well after each time outside. I didn’t overtax it.
I’m thankful for my neighbor. She told me she needed to use her UCard from the insurance company for food. Today was the last day to use it and it still had the full amount for her on it. She didn’t know how she could spend that much money in one day, especially with her fridge and freezer stocked. I asked her if she was averse to buying food for me. She was more than happy to do so. I asked her if she had enough supplies from Walgreens, after thinking about it, we went there first, got what she needed and depleted some of the card before we went to Walmart. She got some food to make chicken soup, and the rest went for meat. It doesn’t take long with the price of meat to use the rest of the card. A new amount goes on the card again tomorrow. I’m grateful for the meat. It really helps with my bare fridge. Note, if she didn’t want to buy food for me, I would have been perfectly happy. It was only a thought, one she agreed to. She also knew how much food I didn’t have. So, it worked out for both of us.
I’m thankful to be home. Walking in both stores messed with my back badly. I’ve been on the heating pad since I got home. I’m really hoping I won’t need to use the walker tomorrow for church.
Tomorrow both our UCards replenish. I’ll be glad to get to the store and stock up my fridge and freezer. I’ll do that on Monday.
I’m thankful I made it through the month without cheating on the Whole30 diet plan. I know I’m eating less and hoping the scale will show a good loss tomorrow. I’m going to switch to Paleo tomorrow to continue the weight loss journey before I go wholly to the blood type diet I’ve been on for a couple of years with good results. I only needed to jump start the weight loss since it seemed stalled in the 90s. On the first of May, I weighed 195. I hope I’m well under that now. My clothes seem to indicate I am. I’ll let you know tomorrow.
Okay, that’s my day. I’m sorry I couldn’t be here to read your posts today. I’ll get to them. I look forward to reading them every day. You are all talented writers.
What are you thankful for today? Let me know in the comments. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.
