Day 136 – Inheritance
Psalm 37:1 (A Psalm of David.) Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. 2 For they will soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in JEHOVAH, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself also in JEHOVAH, and He will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to JEHOVAH, trust also in Him, and He will bring it to pass. 6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.
7 Rest in JEHOVAH and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8 Cease from anger and forsake wrath; do not fret—it only causes harm. 9 For evildoers will be cut off; but those who wait on JEHOVAH will inherit the earth. 10 For yet a little while and the wicked will be no more; indeed, you will look for his place, but it will be no more. 11 However, the meek will inherit the earth and will delight themselves in the abundance of peace. 12 The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth. 13 JEHOVAH laughs at him, for He sees his day coming. 14 The wicked draw the sword and bend their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to slay those who are of upright conduct. 15 Their sword will enter their heart, and their bows will be broken. 16 A little that a righteous man has is better than the riches of many wicked. 17 For the arms of the wicked will be broken, but JEHOVAH upholds the righteous. 18 JEHOVAH knows the days of the upright, and their inheritance will be forever. 19 They will not be ashamed in the evil time, and in the days of famine they will be satisfied. 20 However, the wicked will perish; and the enemies of JEHOVAH, like the splendor of the meadows, will vanish. Into smoke they will vanish away.
21 The wicked borrows and does not repay, but the righteous shows mercy and gives. 22 For those blessed by Him will inherit the earth, but those cursed by Him, He will cut off. 23 The steps of a good man are ordered by JEHOVAH, and He delights in his way. 24 Though he falls, he will not be cast down; for JEHOVAH upholds him with His hand. 25 I have been young and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging for bread. 26 He is ever merciful and lends; and his descendants are blessed. 27 Depart from evil, and do good, and dwell forevermore. 28 For JEHOVAH loves justice and does not forsake His saints; they are preserved forever, but He will cut off the descendants of the wicked. 29 The righteous will inherit the land, and dwell in it forever. 30 The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue talks of justice. 31 The law of his Elohiym is in his heart; none of his steps will slide. 32 The wicked watches the righteous and seeks to slay him. 33 JEHOVAH will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
34 Wait on JEHOVAH, and keep His way, and He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it. 35 I have seen the wicked in great power and spreading himself like a native green tree. 36 Yet he passed away, and behold, he was no more; indeed, I sought him, but he could not be found. 37 Mark the blameless man and observe the upright; for the future of that man is peace. 38 However, the transgressors will be destroyed together; He will cut off the future of the wicked. 39 However, the salvation of the righteous is from JEHOVAH; He is their strength in the time of trouble. 40 JEHOVAH will help them and deliver them; He will deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust Him.

Who do you trust? Many people were taught to trust no one except themselves. They are their law. They do whatever they please and care nothing about the next person. Everything they do is for their glory.
David trusted JEHOVAH for everything in his life, and he told his people to trust Him also. He told his people what JEHOVAH would do for those who trusted Him. David also told his people what would become of the person who didn’t trust JEHOVAH. JEHOVAH would cut off the wicked from the earth and the righteous would inherit the earth.
When you put your trust in Yeshuwa, and accepted Him as your Savior and Lord, you became His child. His promises of blessings and inheritance also belong to you.
1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the Theos and Pater of our Kurios Iesous Christos, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Iesous Christos from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of Theos through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Have you claimed your inheritance? Do you see Yeshuwa’s blessings in your life? Do you live as His child?
What promises did JEHOVAH give His people?
- He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.
- Inherit the earth.
- Delight in peace.
- He upholds you.
- Eternal inheritance.
- He orders their steps.
- Upholds him with His hands.
- Never forsakes him or begs for bread. Provides everything he needs.
- Elohiym’s law is in his heart.
- None of his steps will slide.
- Will not condemn him.
- Exalt you.
- Peaceful future.
- He is their strength in time of trouble.
- He will help them and deliver them.
With these promises, JEHOVAH promised to cut off the wicked from the earth.
Your inheritance is in Yeshuwa. Every promise belongs to you. Not some of them, but every one of them. His promises aren’t only for today, but for eternity.
Have you claimed Yeshuwa’s promises? When Satan comes against you, do you see His deliverance? You can trust Yeshuwa to deliver you from Satan’s clutches. You don’t need to live in fear of what Satan will do to you because your hope and salvation is in Yeshuwa.
Let’s pray: Father, You are my hope and my salvation. I trust You to deliver me when Satan comes against me. Help me lean on You and not on myself, to trust You, and not my understanding. Then I will see Your blessings in my life as I trust in Your promises to keep me from evil. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
