Day 137 – Restoration
Psalm 38:1 (A Psalm of David. To bring to remembrance.) O JEHOVAH do not rebuke me in Your wrath, nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure! 2 For Your arrows pierce me deeply, and Your hand presses me down. 3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your anger, nor any health in my bones because of my sin. 4 For my iniquities have gone over my head; like a heavy burden they are too heavy for me. 5 My wounds are foul and festering because of my foolishness. 6 I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning throughout the day. 7 For my loins are full of inflammation, and there is no soundness in my flesh. 8 I am feeble and severely broken; I groan because of the turmoil of my heart. 9 JEHOVAH, my desire is before You; and my sighing is not hidden from You. 10 My heart pants, my strength fails me; as for the light of my eyes, it also has gone from me. 11 My loved ones and my friends stand aloof from my plague, and my relatives stand afar off.
12 Those who seek my life lay snares for me; those who seek my hurt speak of destruction, and plan deception throughout the day. 13 But I, like a deaf man, do not hear; and I am like a mute who does not open his mouth. 14 Thus I am like a man who does not hear, and in whose mouth is no response. 15 For in You, O JEHOVAH, I hope; You will hear, O JEHOVAH my Elohiym. 16 For I said, “Hear me, lest they rejoice over me, lest, when my foot slips, they exalt themselves against me.” 17 For I am ready to fall, and my sorrow is before me. 18 For I will declare my iniquity; I will be in anguish over my sin. 19 However my enemies are vigorous, and strong; and those who hate me wrongfully have multiplied. 20 Those also who render evil for good, my adversaries, because I follow what is good. 21 Do not forsake me, O JEHOVAH; O my Elohiym, be not far from me! 22 Make haste to help me, O JEHOVAH, my salvation!

Most people, when they’re sick, go to a doctor and accept their diagnosis. They take the medication prescribed, or prepare for their death, depending on the severity of their illness.
David didn’t seek a physician; he prayed to JEHOVAH for healing and a return to health. He heard how his enemies rejoiced because of his illness and asked for JEHOVAH’S mercy to heal him. He didn’t want JEHOVAH’S anger against him. His hope lay in Elohiym, his salvation.
There is a sickness that leads to death no physician can heal, the sickness of the soul. When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, He healed your sin-sick heart and pumped life into your soul. You no longer face an eternity governed by Satan. Yeshuwa broke the chains of Hell, death, and the grave from your life and gave you a new eternity with Him.
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.
John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (NKJV)
David knew only Elohiym could heal him from the sin that ravaged his soul. His hope lay in His salvation alone. Therefore, he cried out to JEHOVAH to heal him. He knew the battle for his life, the sin that beset him. We had the same sin sickness leading to death.
Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race set before us, 2 looking unto Iesous, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of Theos.
What sickness ravages your soul? Do you take a daily account of your life and confess your sin before Yeshuwa who alone heals and restores life into your mortal body?
Today it’s often hard to see sin because of tolerance, a sickness that eats at your soul. Tolerance is a cancer whose only cure is confession.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from every unrighteousness.
Don’t let Satan have a hold over your life. Search out the cause of the separation you feel from Yeshuwa. Confess your sin, and know the freedom and health found only in Yeshuwa.
Let’s pray: Father, too often I tolerate sin, accepting worldly activities that don’t seem wrong. Show me the truth so I can confess my sin and receive Your forgiveness. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
