Day 142 – Advocate

Psalm 43:1 Vindicate me, O Elohiym, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation; Oh, deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man! 2 For You are the Elohiym of my strength; why do You cast me off? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? 3 Oh, send out Your light and Your truth! Let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your tabernacle. 4 Then I will go to the altar of Elohiym, To Elohiym my exceeding joy; and on the harp I will praise You, O Elohiym, my Elohiym. 5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? Why are you disquieted within me? Hope in Elohiym; For I will yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my Elohiym.

God’s names:

Yeshuwa – Jesus

Iesous – Jesus

Christos – Anointed, Messiah, Christ

Advocate

Light

Truth

Help

Righteous

Whether a cause is right or wrong, people want representation for their cause.

The psalmist wanted Elohiym to represent him and plead his cause for him against an ungodly nation. With Elohiym’s help, he knew he would once again go to the tabernacle and praise Elohiym with his harp.

What do you want Yeshuwa to do for you? Do you plead with Him, knowing He is your advocate against Satan and his schemes against you.

Satan will do everything he can to keep you from reaching out to Yeshuwa. He doesn’t want you to plead your cause with Yeshuwa.

What do you want? Do you want to go to church, but illness and family emergencies keep you from church? Do people pull you in different directions away from Yeshuwa until you can’t think for yourself and do what you want? Is your life on a roller coaster? It’s time to pray and seek Yeshuwa’s help. It’s time to stop, look around and realize who controls you.

The psalmist asked Elohiym to plead his case against the ungodly nation. He wanted to get back to the tabernacle and worship Elohiym. You want the same thing. You want to get back to the way things were when you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord before Satan came against you and caused you to focus on everything but Yeshuwa. Yeshuwa is your advocate. When you pray and seek His face, He will come against Satan and bring your life back in order.

2 Chronicles 7:14 “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (NKJV)

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Pater, Iesous Christos the righteous.

You are not alone. It might seem like it because Satan works against you to cause you to believe you’re alone in the battle. However, you’re not alone. Yeshuwa fights for you. He is your advocate. Reach out to Him right now. Let Him know you want His presence in your life.

Let’s pray: Father, You are the light of my life, my truth in dark places. You are my advocate against Satan. I forget that at times and my life becomes a shambles. Help me when I stumble. Plead my case against those who come against me to keep me from You. Help me focus my life on You and not on my troubles. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
