I try to tell myself I can live without any of the luxuries today, but I can’t. The computer is the one luxury in my life, I can’t live without. The computer keeps me connected with people through the Internet. It gives me a voice through the stories I write. It’s my connection with the world. It’s my connection to you.
I can’t hop on a plane and see the world, but I can see the world through my computer. I can’t go to foreign countries to spread the gospel, but I can bring the gospel to the world through the computer. I am limited with what I can do physically, but with the computer and Internet, I can do everything I dreamed about from the time I was a child.
Today, we can hold the computer in the palm of our hands, reaching the world through our phones, iPads, tablets, and by whatever other means we can reach out to people. One day, I’ll dispose of the computer and use another means to reach the world, but it will still be a computer, however small we make them or by whatever means we connect with people and write our stories.
