Winter is my favorite season of the year. Its beauty is unmatched. The way the snow clings to the trees and bows its branches is breathtaking. The pristine whiteness that covers everything is wonderful.
I know there are hazards to winter with ice covered roads and sidewalks. It means you need to use caution.
My second favorite season is fall with its glorious shades of orange, gold, and red in the leaves of the trees as they prepare for winter. Nobody paints a better landscape than God when He decorates the landscape for fall.
I know you wonder why my favorite season is winter. Other than its unique beauty, there aren’t any insects to try to eat you alive when you step out of your house or bring them into your home when you open a door. It’s not hot. With summer’s heat you can’t take off enough clothes to remain decent and cool. In winter, you can layer up for warmth.
Each season has its advantages. Flowers in spring, summer, and fall to grace the landscape and bring their unique beauty to the earth. However, as pretty as those flowers and trees make everything, you can’t get away from the heat and insects. I’m not a fan of either heat or insects. If I could enjoy summer, spring, and fall without them, I could become a fan. However, that’s not possible. Nor is it practical because we need those insects to pollinate our world and keep it in balance.
So yes, my favorite season is winter. I love snow. I always have. I love the winter sports I could take part in as a child. Though I’ve grown too old to make snowmen anymore.

This snowman literally broke my back. I’ve been told I can’t build anymore snowmen. However, it doesn’t put me off winter. I will love winter until I cross over into eternity. I hope there’s snow in heaven.
