Day 145 – God, Our Refuge and Strength
Psalm 46:1 (To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. A Song for Alamoth.) Elohiym is our refuge and strength, a present help in trouble. 2 Therefore, we will not fear, even though the earth is removed, and though the mountains are carried into the midst of the sea; 3 though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah 4 There is a river whose streams will make glad the city of Elohiym, the holy place of the tabernacle of Elyown. 5 Elohiym is among her, she will not be moved; Elohiym will help her, at the break of dawn.
6 The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved; He uttered His voice, the earth melted. 7 JEHOVAH of hosts is with us; the Elohiym of Jacob is our refuge. Selah 8 Come, behold the works of JEHOVAH, who made desolations in the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire. 10 Be still and know that I am Elohiym; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! 11 JEHOVAH of hosts is with us; the Elohiym of Jacob is our refuge. Selah

God’s character:
Refuge
Strength
Help
What makes you afraid? What gives you peace of mind? What gives you comfort? Every day you hear news that troubles your heart and mind. Wars rage throughout the earth. Natural disasters uproot neighborhoods. Earthquakes and floods destroy lives. Who do you turn to when life seems out of control?
The sons of Korah knew where their help came from. They knew who they could trust when the earth shook, and wars raged. They turned to JEHOVAH. They knew He was the only one they could rely on. He was their refuge and strength, their help in troubled times.
When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, He became your refuge and strength. You can turn to Him for help when Satan comes against you. Satan wants to destroy you, put you in the middle of danger, make you afraid. However, when you put your hope in Yeshuwa, nothing Satan does will cause you to panic. Instead, it will cause you to pray.
With Yeshuwa fighting for you, you will know the peace that passes understanding. Nothing can stand in the way of His might. You will exalt Him because He is your Elohiym, your Elyown, your JEHOVAH. Give Him praise because He gives you peace in troubled times.
Let’s pray: Father, You are my refuge and strength. I can depend on You when Satan comes against me. I exalt You Lord, my King, and my God. Let my praise come into Your tabernacle. Give me Your strength for the battle and cause Satan to flee when I fall on my knees. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
