Day 149 – Covenant
Psalm 50:1 (A Psalm of Asaph.) El, Elohiym JEHOVAH, spoke and called the earth from the rising of the sun to its going down. 2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, Elohiym will shine forth. 3 Our Elohiym will come and will not keep silent; a fire will devour before Him, and it will be tempestuous around Him. 4 He will call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that He may judge His people. 5 “Gather My saints together to Me, those who made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.” 6 Let the heavens declare His righteousness, for Elohiym Himself is Judge. Selah
7 “Hear, O My people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you; I am Elohiym, your Elohiym! 8 I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices or your burnt offerings, which are always before Me. 9 I will not take a bull from your house, nor goats out of your folds. 10 For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. 11 I know the birds of the mountains, and the wild beasts of the field are Mine. 12 If I were hungry, I would not tell you; for the world is Mine, and its fullness. 13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats? 14 Offer to Elohiym thanksgiving and pay your vows to the Elyown. 15 Call upon Me on the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will glorify Me.”
16 However, to the wicked Elohiym says, “What right have you to declare My statutes, or take My covenant in your mouth, 17 seeing you hate instruction and cast My words behind you? 18 When you saw a thief, you consented with him and became a partaker with adulterers. 19 You give your mouth to evil, and your tongue frames deceit. 20 You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your mother’s son. 21 These things you did, and I kept silent; you thought I was altogether like you; but I will rebuke you and set them in order before your eyes. 22 Now consider this, you who forget Elohiym, lest I tear you into pieces, and there be none to deliver. 23 Whoever offers praise glorifies Me; and to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of Elohiym.”

People make many claims about what they can do and what they did. Many of those same people puff themselves up, making themselves more important than their peers. Those who listen to them hear them as boasters who cannot follow through with their claims.
Asaph told the people who JEHOVAH was and what He did. He created the earth. He does not need to boast about what He did because the heavens declare His righteousness. Asaph also told the people Elohiym needs nothing from them because He owns the cattle on a thousand hills. He knows every bird and beast of the field. He sees the sacrifices of His people. He also sees what the wicked do and will judge them for their wickedness. However, those who praise Him will see His salvation.
When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, He saw your sacrifice and counted you as His child, grafted you into His chosen people, and calls you by name. He knows you. When you praise Him, you glorify Him.
John 10:27 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; neither will anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Pater, who gave them to Me, is greater than all; and no one can snatch them out of My Pater’s hand. 30 I and My Pater are one.”
Romans 11:16 For if the first fruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. 17 If some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, 18 do not boast against the branches. However, if you do boast, remember you do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” 20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. 21 For if Theos did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. 22 Therefore, consider the goodness and severity of Theos: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. 23 They also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for Theos can graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their olive tree? 25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 So Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, and He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; 27 For this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins.”
Elohiym told His people His covenant was with His people, and He would judge everyone who didn’t abide by His covenant.
As Christians, Theos’ covenant is with you also. You became part of the olive tree when you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord.
John 15:1 “I am the true vine, and My Pater is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the words which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it will be done for you. 8 By this My Pater is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
Therefore, give Yeshuwa praise and glorify Him because you belong to Him as His chosen people, grafted into the vine and partakers of His holiness.
Let’s pray: Father, I give You praise because You chose me and call me Your child. Do not let me become boastful and proud, making claims that belong to You alone. Let my life be a sacrifice of Your goodness to me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
