Day 153 – Prayer
Psalm 54:1 (To the Chief Musician. With stringed instruments. A Contemplation of David when the Ziphites went and said to Saul, “Is David not hiding with us?”) Save me, O Elohiym, by Your name, and vindicate me by Your strength. 2 Hear my prayer, O Elohiym; give ear to the words of my mouth. 3 For strangers have risen against me, and oppressors seek after my life; they do not set Elohiym before them. Selah
4 Behold, Elohiym is my helper; Adonay is with those who uphold my life. 5 He will repay my enemies for their evil. Cut them off in Your truth. 6 I will freely sacrifice to You; I will praise Your name, O JEHOVAH, for it is good. 7 For He delivered me out of trouble; and my eye saw its desire upon my enemies.
God’s names:
Elohiym – Supreme God
Adonay – Proper name of God
JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
Yeshuwa – Jesus
God’s character:
Strength
Helper
Truth
Deliverer
Where do you turn when things go wrong, when the only thing you see is trouble?
David turned to Elohiym, his Adonay and JEHOVAH. He knew he could trust Him to deliver him from his enemies.
As Christians, your enemy is Satan. He will come against you as often as he can. Your only recourse against Satan is prayer. Prayer should not be your last hope but your first. David knew he could depend on Elohiym to deliver him from his enemies and hear him when he prayed. You can depend on Yeshuwa to hear you when you pray. Yeshuwa said to pray, and He would answer because it brings glory to the Father.
John 14:13 “Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. (NKJV)
Prayer is your lifeline to the help you need when Satan comes against you.
James 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. (NKJV)
What trouble are you facing? Pray and watch Yeshuwa answer your prayers. Don’t doubt the answer. Believe, and you will see Satan flee from you.
Let’s pray: Father, help me stand firm in my faith without doubting when I come to You in Your name when Satan comes against me. Let my praise come before Your throne before I see the answer and when I do. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
