Day 156 – Trust

Psalm 57:1 (To the Chief Musician. Set to “Do Not Destroy.” A Michtam of David when he fled from Saul into the cave.) Be merciful to me, O Elohiym, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings, I will make my refuge, until these calamities pass by. 2 I will cry out to Elohiym Elyown, to Elohiym who performs everything for me. 3 He will send from heaven and save me; He reproaches the one who would swallow me up. Selah Elohiym will send forth His mercy and His truth. 4 My soul is among lions; I lie among the sons of men who are set on fire, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. 5 Be exalted, O Elohiym, above the heavens; let Your glory be above the earth. 6 They prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down; they dug a pit before me; into the midst of it they themselves fall. Selah

7 My heart is steadfast, O Elohiym, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise. 8 Awake, my glory! Awake, lute and harp! I will awaken the dawn. 9 I will praise You, O Adonay, among the peoples; I will sing to You among the nations. 10 For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens, and Your truth unto the clouds. 11 Be exalted, O Elohiym, above the heavens; let Your glory be above the earth.

What do you do when you face trouble? Where do you look for help?

David prayed to Elohiym when he fled from Saul who intended to kill him. He trusted Him to save him, not from his enemy, but from his king.

Many Christians find themselves fighting against other Christians. Instead of agreeing with each other and working with each other, they find themselves at odds with each other. Many times, it results in church splits and members starting separate congregations. It’s not good when it happens. It causes divisions among people who used to be friends. The only thing you can do when it happens is pray, look to Yeshuwa for help, and praise Him as David did.

Saul wanted to kill him. David prayed, encouraged himself in Adonay, and sang praises to Him. You need to do the same. When you do, you will find Yeshuwa will keep you safe from every trouble that comes against you.

What troubles do you face from those you call friends? Pray, seek Yeshuwa’s help, and He will bring unity instead of division.

Let’s pray: Father, You know the troubles I face. Help me because I trust in You. Let my praises come before You in Your sanctuary. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
