The prompt for today is about self-care. I’ve already covered that. However, there is also the self-care that comes from preventative health appointments.
So, instead of today being a writing day as Monday usually is, I have two back-to-back appointments at the clinic. The first is a bone density test. I really hope I haven’t lost another inch. I’m not holding my breath however. Every bone density test I’ve had has seen another inch gone. I started my adult life at a nice 5’2″. Short yes, but not like today at 4’9″. My son told me before my last bone density test that if I lost another inch he would get me a child booster for the car. I did. He didn’t. I’m grateful. So, what will it be today? Will I remain 4’9″ or come home at 4’8″. I hope not. I’m not holding my breath.
After the bone density is a mammogram. I don’t get them often because breast cancer doesn’t run in my family. My last one was five years ago. This will be my last one. I was told I don’t need to do another after 75. I’ll be 72 next month. I expect the same results as the last several times I got the test. This one shouldn’t hold any surprises.
It’s a busy health week this week. Today, two appointments, and then Wednesday I see my gastro. I have a colonoscopy coming up. I’ll know when on Wednesday, and then I fast for three days. I’m going to start eating less today, so it will be easy to fast when the time comes. I’ll be so glad when that one is over.
