Day 160 – Prayer

Psalm 61:1 (To the Chief Musician. On a stringed instrument. A Psalm of David.) Hear my cry, O Elohiym; attend to my prayer. 2 From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the Tsuwr that is higher than I. 3 For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. 4 I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah

5 For You, O Elohiym, have heard my vows; You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name. 6 You will prolong the king’s life, his years as many generations. 7 He will abide before Elohiym forever. Oh, prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him! 8 Then I will sing praise to Your name forever, that I may daily perform my vows.

Who do you trust when life becomes overwhelming? Where do you find your strength? Do you look at yourself, your friends, or a deity?

David found his strength in Elohiym alone. When his life became overwhelming, which was often, he encouraged himself in Elohiym. He trusted Him to bring him victory over his enemies.

As Christians, your strength is in Yeshuwa. He is your Tsuwr and strong tower. He is your refuge when you need to rest between battles. Satan will do everything he can to destroy your life, bring chaos and calamity even in the calmest situation. It is then you need to do what David did and pray, seek Yeshuwa’s face. Turn to Him as your Tsuwr. You will find no one else who can deliver you from Satan’s schemes against you.

What are you facing? When was the last time you prayed? Satan doesn’t want you to pray. He wants you to focus your attention on the trouble he brings your way. You need to stop, calm your thoughts, and pray. When you do, you will find strength in knowing Yeshuwa has your back. He already defeated Satan on the cross. The battle you face becomes nothing in His hands. Prayer stops Satan in his tracks and causes him to flee because you call on Yeshuwa’s name, a name that tears down the gates of hell, smashes every plan he has against you, and crushes his hopes of destroying your faith.

Don’t let Satan have the upper hand in your life. Take control. Pray and watch Yeshuwa destroy Satan’s plans against you.

Let’s pray: Father, my life is chaotic. Take my focus off my troubles and turn them over to You. Let my praise come before You because You keep me safe and destroy Satan’s plans against me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
