Day 162 – Longing
Psalm 63:1 (A Psalm of David when he was in the wilderness of Judah.) O Elohiym, You are my Elohiym; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. 2 Then I looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory.
3 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise You. 4 Then I will bless You while I live; I will lift my hands in Your name. 5 My soul will be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth will praise You with joyful lips. 6 When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches.
7 Because You have been my help, therefore, in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. 8 My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me. 9 However, those who seek my life, to destroy it, will go into the lower parts of the earth. 10 They will fall by the sword; they will be a portion for jackals. 11 However, the king will rejoice in Elohiym; everyone who swears to Him will glory; but the mouth of those who speak lies will be stopped.

Help
Did you ever want something so badly it felt like you were dying of thirst? Everything felt dry.
David longed for Elohiym as he longed for water. Nothing else could fill him as much as spending time in His presence. David knew Elohiym’s lovingkindness and the help He gave him against his enemies.
Do you know Yeshuwa as much as David knew Elohiym? Do you long to spend time in His presence? Do you praise Him and give Him glory? Do you seek Him in church? What will you do to get as close to Yeshuwa as David did to Elohiym?
When your closeness with Yeshuwa feels like dryness in your soul when you don’t meet with Him daily, then you will know the depth of David’s need for Elohiym. You will do whatever you can to spend time with Him. You will go to church, Bible study, pray, seek His face. You will read your Bible and not depend on others to feed you. You will quench your thirst for Yeshuwa when you spend time in His presence.
David sought Elohiym where He could find Him, in the sanctuary. Seek Yeshuwa where you can find Him. When you read your Bible, go to church, pray, go to Bible study, you will find Him. Yeshuwa is always close to those who seek Him.
Let’s pray: Father, I long for Your presence as much as David did. I thirst for You. Fill me with Your lovingkindness when I praise You and come into Your presence. Give me the same longing for Your presence as David had for You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
