Day 165 – Praise

Psalm 66:1 (To the Chief Musician. A Song. A Psalm.) Make a joyful shout to Elohiym, throughout the earth! 2 Sing out the honor of His name; make His praise glorious. 3 Say to Elohiym, “How awesome are Your works! Through the greatness of Your power Your enemies will submit themselves to You. 4 The earth will worship You and sing praises to You; they will sing praises to Your name.” Selah 5 Come and see the works of Elohiym; He is awesome in His doing toward the sons of men. 6 He turned the sea into dry land; they went through the river on foot. There we will rejoice in Him. 7 He rules by His power forever; His eyes observe the nations; do not let the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah

8 Oh, bless our Elohiym, you peoples! Make the voice of His praise to be heard, 9 who keeps our soul among the living, and does not allow our feet to be moved. 10 For You, O Elohiym, tested us; You refined us as silver is refined. 11 You brought us into the net; You laid affliction on our backs. 12 You caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; but You brought us out to rich fulfillment.

13 I will go into Your house with burnt offerings; I will pay You my vows, 14 which my lips uttered, and my mouth spoke when I was in trouble. 15 I will offer You burnt sacrifices of fat animals, with the sweet aroma of rams; I will offer bulls with goats. Selah 16 Come and hear, you who fear Elohiym, and I will declare what He did for my soul. 17 I cried to Him with my mouth and extolled Him with my tongue. 18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, Adonay will not hear. 19 However, Elohiym heard me; He attended to the voice of my prayer. 20 Blessed be Elohiym, who did not turn away my prayer, nor His mercy from me!

God’s names:

Elohiym – Supreme God

Adonay – God’s proper name

Yeshuwa – Jesus

God’s character:

Power

Refiner

Merciful

Do you ever wake up happy and know everything will be okay, that everything you went through is over, and you can breathe a sigh of relief?

The psalmist is at that point. He saw how Elohiym helped them overcome the Egyptians when they left Egypt and walked across the Red Sea on dry ground. He praised Elohiym and gave Him glory for the mighty works of His hands. He extolled Him and worshiped Adonay who heard his prayer and showed him His mercy.

What is the greatest thing Yeshuwa did for you? Wasn’t it His salvation when He poured out His life on the cross? He brought you out of slavery to sin and gave you, His name.

Elohiym freed the Israelites from slavery. Yeshuwa freed you from slavery to Satan. You no longer belong to him. You’re free to worship and praise Yeshuwa for everything He did for you.

What did Yeshuwa free you from? What was your life like before you accepted Him as Savior and Adonay? Is Yeshuwa your Elohiym? Praise Him. Give Him the honor due to His name. Worship Him in the spirit of holiness. Come into His presence with thanksgiving and bless His name.

Let’s pray: Father, I come to You with an attitude of thanksgiving, blessing Your name for everything You did for me. You gave me life when Your Son died for me. You took my sins and washed them clean in His blood, and you gave me Your name. That’s not all, you made me Your child so that I can call You Father. Not only Father, but Abba. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I worship You and give You glory. Let my prayer come before You as sweet incense and let me know Your presence is always with me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
