Day 171 – Prayer
Psalm 72:1 (A Psalm of Solomon.) Give the king Your judgments, O Elohiym, and Your righteousness to the king’s son.
2 He will judge Your people with righteousness, and Your poor with justice. 3 The mountains will bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness. 4 He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save the children of the needy and will break into pieces the oppressor. 5 They will fear You as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout every generation. 6 He will come down like rain upon the grass before mowing, like showers that water the earth. 7 In His days the righteous will flourish, and abundance of peace, until the moon is no more. 8 He will have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth. 9 Those who dwell in the wilderness will bow before Him, and His enemies will lick the dust. 10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles will bring presents; the kings of Sheba and Seba will offer gifts. 11 Yes, kings will fall before Him; nations will serve Him. 12 For He will deliver the needy when he cries, the poor also, and him who has no helper. 13 He will spare the poor and needy and will save the souls of the needy. 14 He will redeem their life from oppression and violence; and precious will be their blood in His sight. 15 He will live; and the gold of Sheba will be given to Him; prayer also will be made for Him continually, and daily He will be praised. 16 There will be an abundance of grain in the earth, on the top of the mountains; its fruit will wave like Lebanon; and those of the city will flourish like grass of the earth. 17 His name will endure forever; His name will continue as long as the sun. Men will be blessed in Him; nations will call Him blessed.
18 Blessed be JEHOVAH Elohiym, the Elohiym of Israel, who only does wondrous things! 19 Blessed be His glorious name forever! Let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen and Amen. 20 The prayers of David, the son of Jesse is ended.

Do you pray? What do you focus on when you pray?
Solomon prayed for the people. He asked Elohiym to help the poor and needy, to bring justice to those who were oppressed and bring peace to His people.
When you pray to Yeshuwa, where is your focus? Do you pray for your needs, giving Yeshuwa a long laundry list of needs, or do you pray for others, for justice, peace, and for Yeshuwa’s provision for His people? When you pray, do you believe He will answer you? When Yeshuwa answers, do you praise Him for the answer?
Solomon didn’t pray for himself. He prayed for the people. He prayed for Elohiym to bless them, provide for them, and bring them justice from their oppressors.
You have needs, everyone does. However, when you pray for others first, Yeshuwa will help you also.
Let’s pray: Father, I come before You in humbleness of heart, knowing that too often I prayed for my needs without thinking about the needs of others. Change my heart, oh Lord, let me put others first in my prayers and watch You save, heal, and deliver Your people in their times of need. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
