Day 174 – Praise
Psalm 75:1 (To the Chief Musician. Set to “Do Not Destroy.” A Psalm of Asaph. A Song.) We give thanks to You, O Elohiym, we give thanks! For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near. 2 “When I choose the proper time, I will judge uprightly. 3 The earth and its inhabitants are dissolved; I set up its pillars firmly. Selah 4 ‘I said to the boastful, ‘Do not deal boastfully,’ and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift the horn. 5 Do not lift your horn on high; do not speak with a stiff neck.’”
6 For exaltation comes neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south. 7 However, Elohiym is the Judge: He puts down one and exalts another. 8 For in the hand of JEHOVAH there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is fully mixed, and He pours it out; its dregs will the wicked of the earth drain and drink down. 9 However, I will declare forever, I will sing praises to the Elohiym of Jacob. 10 “The horns of the wicked I will also cut off, but the horns of the righteous will be exalted.”
God’s names:
Elohiym – Supreme God
JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
Yeshuwa – Jesus
God’s character:
Judge
Creator
For what are you thankful? What causes you to sing? What makes you glad?
Asaph sang praises to Elohiym because he saw Elohiym’s work of creation and knew He was near. He saw JEHOVAH’S judgment of the wicked and how He poured out the wine of His wrath on them. He knew Elohiym would exalt the righteous.
When you see everything Yeshuwa does for you, you can rejoice and sing His praises as Asaph did. You know He will cut off the wicked from the earth. It’s His promise.
Satan will try to blind your eyes from Yeshuwa’s goodness to you. However, you know Yeshuwa will cast Him down because He already defeated Him on the cross. His time is short. Therefore, praise Yeshuwa and glorify Him who lives forever, and judges righteously.
Let’s pray: Father, I give you praise for everything You did for me. Let my praise come before You and exalt Your name forever because You redeemed me from Hell, death, and the grave. Satan no longer has control over me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
