List 10 things you know to be absolutely certain.

In a day of uncertainty about many things, it’s good to know there are things in my life I can rely on with certainty.

  1. I am certain about my identity in Jesus Christ. I grew up knowing about God and Jesus His Son, but it wasn’t until I made Him my personal Savior and Lord, that my identity changed and I became His child.
  2. I am certain about God who created everything. The Bible says: In the beginning God. That’s good enough for me. But then He told me what He created, and how I have a place in His creation because He made me in His image.
  3. I am certain about my identity as mother and grandmother. Fifty-two years ago yesterday, I became a mother for the first time. I have three children, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. I only wish I had a good relationship with all of them, and that they lived closer so I could see them more often. I’m grateful for my youngest son who lives close by, and I do see often.
  4. I am certain about the talent God gave me to write. I have nine published books and more to come. Without His help writing, I couldn’t write a single word. Of that I am most certain.
  5. I am certain about where I live. I live in the United States of America, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Now, as certain as I am about where I live in this moment, even that could change. However, I know it is God who provides me with a place to live and the country where I live.
  6. I am certain about my parentage. I know who my parents were, and my heritage within that family group. I know who my sister and brothers are/were as one of my siblings passed and so have my parents.
  7. I am certain about my education. I attended a technical college and earned an Associate Degree in Architectural. I also received a certificate as an offset press operator, and a diploma from the Institute of Children’s Literature.
  8. I am certain about my life in the Navy. It might not have been a long career, like I hoped, but I am proud to have worn the uniform of the United States Navy.
  9. I am certain that today is July 14 and should I live to see Saturday, I will be 72 years old.
  10. I am certain about my eternity. I know I will go to heaven when I die or when Jesus returns and takes me to heaven with His church in the rapture. I am certain of this because I accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord on April 22, 1980.

These are the ten things I am certain about. What are you certain about? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.
